Rated 2 out of 5 by from Carb issues Good unit, bad engine. I bought the unit with the Toro engine (I think they also have a briggs option?). I am good at upkeep and maintenance with my equipment and this carb is sub par.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommend Seriously, this is one of the best things I have ever purchased. Now when it snow, I happily suit up in my parka, boots and gloves (there is no bad weather; only bad gear), start up the snowblower (with the electric start button), and go. It clears deep snow from my double, curved driveway and sidewalks around my large corner lot as easily as pushing a vacuum across carpeting. I am a fairly small woman, and I can honestly say that this self-propelled machine is very easy to control. Small lessons learned: Walk a little faster and the snow shoots out further; moving deep dry snow is a breeze, moving deep wet snow takes an occasional "jiggle" to loosen it from the rotors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome snowblower terrible oil fill This snowblower is fantastic when it comes to clearing snow. Works just as advertised. I first used mine on about 3 inches of light fluffy snow and it threw the snow surprisingly far for a single stage. Also the self adjusting shave plate clears right down the pavement. Since I used it on just 3 inches of light snow, I can't comment on engine power right now. We'll see once the first heavy snowfall comes. But, since it has the same 212cc engine that's on the two stage models, I don't think it will be an issue. My biggest bone to pick is with the oil fill and dipstick. The engine on this model has a low oil fill and dipstick, which is NOT at all like your conventional dipstick on your car or lawnmower. It really is an inconvenient setup. Toro suggests tipping the snowblower forward to make it easier to add oil because there it is not enough room underneath the cylinder for a funnel. But I think this to be really hokie. I use a funnel with a tube on it to add oil so I don't have to tip the whole machine forward. This machine would really be a homerun with an automotive style high oil fill and dipstick. There really is no reason why it can't have one. Suggestion to improve the product for next year Toro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive performance for the price! I live in Montana in a mountainous region that gets a lot of snow. This winter was particularly snowy and cold so the snowthrower got thoroughly tested. It started each time with a maximum of two pulls, and that includes several instances where it was below zero Fahrenheit. It did a really good job clearing the snow, all the way to the pavement like a single-stage should. For the price, the quality of the machine can't be beat. I'm completely happy with the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mid-Atlantic resident here... We purchased a Toro 721R21 this Winter and the product is good. Tru... Mid-Atlantic resident here... We purchased a Toro 721R21 this Winter and the product is good. True to reviews, it moves snow well but the design needs some tweaks... The good... -very powerful...moves 12" of wet heavy snow...I'd say that's about the limit at one time. -quick pull start, choke not needed. -small, light and powerful. The not so good... -because it's so light, and the tires are plastic, any type of heavy snow with the chute moved to either side cause the blower to be forced over in the opposite direction. You have to angle the blower against "flow" to keep it moving straight. - the plastic grill around the motor's exhaust melted this past week. Perhaps some metal shielding would be better than the plastic grill. -the manual blower direction handle works fine, but the friction nuts to adjust the top exit angle of the blower tube need to tightened a lot to keep the angle in the down position as the snow hits it. I had the exit angle piece pretty tight- and it straightened out initially when the snow hit it. After I tool tightened the exit shoot, it stayed put, but I can't adjust it by hand while working out in the driveway without using a wrench. Sometimes you want to keep the snow down and away and other times you need it to throw up and as far out as possible. Can't do that on the fly with this unit. Otherwise, it's the best power for the least cost.

Are the paddles on this machine made of rubber, as is the case for many other Toro snow-blowers?

Asked by: jayy
As far as I can tell they are a hard composite of materials including rubber. I have not had a problem...the blower has stood up to a lot of work and have noted very little wear on the blades.

Would this work on a gravel driveway?

Asked by: EZ2LOOKATASIAN
Powered by a Toro Premium 212cc OHV 4-cycle, it's ideal for concrete and asphalt surfaces. However, our PowerMax models have skids that raise the auger and scraper a fraction of an inch off the surface, this makes them the best choice for gravel or mix surfaces. Hope this help! Thank you.
