Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs the job I bought it for I live in Minnesota and own a large two-stage snowblower to clear snow from my big driveway. But I needed a small, handy snowblower to clear snow from my deck and front porch. My new Toro 1800 corded snowblower sufficiently does the latter. I no longer have to manually shovel and lift the snow over the railings -- my new Toro 1800 does this just fine. It's light to move around from the back of my house to the front. And I like that it's corded, so no gas engine, and no costly electric batteries that need to be kept charged all the time. In summary, this light duty snowblower performs the job I bought it for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible I bought this blower through home depot in November 2018. I only had to use it twice that season. I did like it very much the two times I used it. I went to use it this winter season in December 2019 and the second time I used it (4th time total) it sputtered out after a few minutes. Thought maybe too much snow had gotten into it. Wiped it down and let it dry. Tried again this month after another snow fall... and again it wouldn't start up until about 10 tries...then sputtered out again. I would expect an over $400 snow blower to last more than 4 times!!! And of course the warranty is no more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked great for 2 years, then ... I live in Minneapolis, where we average about 60" of snow a year. I have a small driveway (single-car, 40' long) and a 60' long section of sidewalk to clear. Even in a foot of snow his machine does the job: if it's too deep I just make a pass across the top until I am down to the pavement, then do full-height but partial-width passes after that. It struggles a bit on the heavy chunky crud left in front of my driveway by the snowplows, but does the job. Not too loud (sounds like a vacuum cleaner), and I LOVE that I just plug it in and don't have to worry about fuel, spark plug changes, tuneups, etc. associated with gas engines. Now here's the bad part: going into the third winter the motor seems to be starting to go. Every time I open it up and jiggle the wires going into the motor it works for a few minutes, then quits again. Only two years, just past the warranty?! Can't find replacement motor online - I have to buy a new machine?

Love the shoot direction system. Quick and easy. Like the position of the wheels. Makes it easy to tilt and level the blower. Start system is very reliable. Throws snow a long way and performs like a giant in deep snow. Only improvement would be to take the bend out of the handle. The hand position results in slight muscle burn after using the unit for awhile. Highly recommend this little powerhouse.

I had a similar sized battery-powered blower before this but it would shut down in deeper snow. I returned it and got this unit and it works great, even in deeper, heavier snow. I was concerned that it would trip my circuit breaker but that's never happened. I'm very happy with it.

At 15 amp will this be constantly blowing my 15 amp circuit breaker. Need something light for deck and patio. My gas one is too heavy to lift up

Asked by: Richard
This unit was designed to work on a 15A circuit in heavy snow conditions. Please take note to use the correct extension cord size listed in the instruction manual.

Our patio, walkway and driveway are surfaced with light colored pavers. Will the snow blower leave black marks on the pavers?

Asked by: Tracy
The 1800 Power Curve can be used on light colored pavers. The blades are designed to never contact the surface and the plastic scraper is friendly to surfaces and should slide smoothly on the surface as it collects the snow.

Because the rotor touches the surface, it is removing snow from. It is possible that it may scratch a wooden deck.
