Bought this snow blower last year for maintenance department as we blow off side walks and dock area and around fire hydrants on property. Used anytime snow is 4 inches or more. OUTSTANDING piece of equipment at a good price. I am very impressed, used last year in April with a 15.5 inch wet snow fall and our doors were drifted up to 5 feet deep, handled it all, unit ran for 6 to 7 hours straight, blew ice chunks under snow off 18 wheelers in dock area, small pieces of broken wooden pallets, a few golf ball rocks from flower beds ect.. I just brought anther one yesterday for the my driveway at my house, will arrive Friday. Recommend this product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke Bought this item Nov 11/18. Used second time today and the "NO SHEAR PINS" broke on one side. I guess heavy snow is to much? Model is advertised as no shear pins but they are there. Two brass looking auger bolts that hold auger to shaft to rotate(A SHEAR PIN !) SO mine snapped and is now embedded in the shaft. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy, pay 1300 bucks and you get to use it twice!!!!!!!!! Its going back to the store for the 90 day return policy or a dispute with the credit card company will look after this. 20 year old Model from another mfg I just gave to my son still runs better then this broken pile of Cr$$p. Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely Recommend!! Bought this on Jan 4 2022. You pay for what you get and this snowblower is definitely worth the money!!! I spent pretty much all day today (saturday) here in Edmonton blowing snow. We have had a ton of snow so far this year. 3 driveways and 2 yards, (front and back sidewalks) not a hiccup! This unit has so much blowing power that I didn't have to take half swaths. My father's 33 year old TORO blower is still running to this day, this is why I bought a TORO. I didn't really need the electric start, but they are hard to find this year due to covid and the amount of snow. However with the electric start it also came with beefier engine, glad I got this one!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Snowblower for NE Weather [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received my new 24" Power Max® 824 two weeks before this year's biggest snowstorm in Boston of 2022. I had no issues clearing out my 6-car driveway of over 12+ inches of all the types of snow that dropped over the 2 days. My 824 cut right through the wall of snow and ice at the end of our driveway with easy. The 824 never clogged once and always started when needed. The joystick control is a blessing over the old-style hand crank found on other productions. I would recommend the Power Max 824 for anyone living in NE since we get a lot of heavy rain soak snow over the light and fluffy stuff.

I bought this snow blower a few months ago based on the ratings in Consumer Reports. I used it 3 times before the discharge chute control adjustment failed to work and the electric start didn’t work. It needed a replacement cable, spark plug and a new seal for the gear box as it was leaking oil. Absolutely appalled at the poor quality and having to pay $80 for pick up and delivery which the warranty didn’t cover. Had the Home Depot extended warranty and it was useless. U It’s also very poor handling wet, heavy snow.

We live on one acre and the driveway and turn around areas are gravel. This unit has adjustable "shoes" to raise the auger so it doesn't dig into the gravel. It is very powerful, easy to start and a welcome addition to our mechanized fleet (ie riding lawn mower, sprayer, rototiller, etc.). It was already put together at the store which is a plus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's priced right with some nice features. This machine was purchased as a replacement for an 824 Toro that I bought back in 1987 (32 years of service!). I like the toggle feature for the chute, and the compact design is nice for old people like me. The one glaring negative would be that this machine is somewhat lightweight and bounces around a lot when whenever it meets the slightest resistance along the snow removal path. Otherwise, it throws even wet snow a good distance, it hasn't clogged yet, and the drive speeds are great. You need better operator manuals, and ditch the incredibly vague pictorial instructions. Way too confusing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Survived Snowmageddon 2020 in Newfoundland So I bought this snowblower last January after doing some extensive research and for the price point, this thing delivers. - Starts on 1st pull, every time - Easy to use - Just blasted thru 93cm of snow that we received - Tosses snow like Uncle Phil tosses Jazz out of the house Best purchase to date.

Does this blower have a pull start

Asked by: Bill
Hi, Bill! Thanks for your question. This blower utilizes an electric start button, but also has a recoil for manual starting. To use the electric starter, connect a power cord to the plug-in first and then to a power outlet. We recommend using only a UL-listed, 16-gauge extension cord recommended for outdoor use that is not longer than 50 ft. Thanks!

I noticed there are two holes on each end of the axle. It seems the manual requires pushing the wheel a little inward and put the pin in the second hole.  I wonder which hole should I pin the wheel?

Asked by: Gary
Hi, Thank you for this question. You may use the second hole to insert the pin for a snug fit.
