Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of Power Here I have used this machine twice in normal 4"-5" snowfalls. The engine seems to have adequate power. It will blow snow as 40 ft. as advertised. It starts easy by hand pull and the 120V starter is awesome. The light also works well. This unit would be more awesome if it had hand grip heaters! Even with power steering assist I have to hold on when maneuvering in my driveway which is uneven pavement, but that is not the machines fault. The snow shoot joy stick control is good although it sometimes needs coaching to be moved, but not a big deal. Overall, a good machine that will certainly handle the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just get it. This is a strong product. The brand speaks for itself. Stored in my shed in the cold away from power, I have only pulled started this and have not yet had to use the electric start. It starts on first pull very easily. The controls take a little getting used to, but I am already loving quick maneuvers of the joystick. It throws snow far. I have a double drive way and it throws most kinds of snow onto the bank from the other side of the driveway with ease. The differential in the axel makes it different to drive. Because the wheels are not locked on a straight path, it means you have to guide it straight which, when using it uphill means a little more or a forearm workout, but honestly, the convinience of being able to turn it while driving forward overrides this single negative. Worth the money, recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good blower, poor quality control. I already owned a Toro Blower and was happy with it. This one came partially assembled and following the instructions, went together easily. However, when completed, I realized the drive wheel would not disengage. A call to Toro resulted in me taking it to the authorized repair centre which luckily was not too far away. Turns out it had shipped from the factory with a cable that was too short. They replaced the cable with the correct one at no charge. All ended well but it cost me a lot of frustration and nearly a day of my time getting this resolved.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Power Max 826 OAE When assembling it took me a few minutes to determine that the chute-control rod was bent in shipping. I straightened it with vice grips and hope it didn't weaken it and cause a future problem. Used last week and think it going to take a little practice to get used to the auto steering but it was easier than having to muscle it. So far, starts great - one pull but weather has not been that cold.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job I bought this snowblower a week ago and got a good discount after doing a price match with a Toro dealer. Snowblower came assembled. But because HomeDepot does not test the speed selector/traction drive (they would have to add gas to do that), my first reverse speed actually went forward! No one at HomeDepot could help me with that. My manual was frozen because the snowblower stayed out for a few nights in rain and freezing weather. Once I was was able to read the manual the next day, it was obvious that it was an easy fix. I simply had to adjust the trunnion. A picture of the trunnion is attached. I wish the joystick lever for the chute was a little smoother but overall I am satisfied with it. I like that you can easily rotate the snowblower and, for short passes, even pull it back without having to actually put it in reverse gear. However, like all other snowblowers in this category, a few mm of snow will be left on the ground unlike my previous 1-stage snowblower with rubber paddles. (Toro CCR 2450 , a small beast)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This machine is pure junk I bought this machine 2 years ago. One month after warranty the electric starter did not operate. The engine is next to impossible to turn over repeated with the pull cord. The chute adjuster is not intuitive at all. Now after 2 years, I went to start it manually yesterday and the pull cord broke (this machine is stored in an insulated garage year round. I currently own 3 snowblowers and this is by far the worst.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy if you have a gravel driveway The auto turning feature makes it very difficult to go in a straight line at least on gravel. When one side meets any resistance the machine starts to turn that way, when you try to straighten it will start to turn the other way. So you end up strong arming it zigging and zagging along. They claim not too use shear pins but stronger bolts and the engine will stop instead, these sheared off the first time I used it and now I'm replacing shear pins like any other machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent machine Great machine, well designed and built with lots of power. The controls for the snow chute are awesome, the controls work well and it usually starts with one pull. The steering works well. The only minor complaint is the skids are metal. I bought aftermarket plastic replacements with rollers that would not scratch the pavers, cement etc.

What is the minimum height of snow required to use this snow blower? Can it be used to clear the ice/snow bank created snow plowers in front of driveway?

Asked by: AKSIN
This snowblower will Plow through anything the snowplough leaves at the end of the driveway. Amazing machine. I’m in northern Ontario, Canada. We had tons of snow last year and this machine had no problem with any amount of snow.

I ordered this product online and it was delivered a few nights ago. Great product. However, we did not have an electrical cord in the box. Should there have been one to support the electrical start? I can’t get an answer from Home Depot.

Asked by: Maja
I bought the same machine last year and it did not come with one.

I recently purchased the toro 826 snowblower. The online ad did not specify if this snowblower had a rebuilt engine or a new engine. Please clarify.

Asked by: Neil53
This is a new snow blower. It is not refurbished. Thank you.
