The chute controls take some getting used to and I think could have a better design but I would recommend this snow blowers to others.

This year we have gotten seriously heavy snow storms in NJ but my Toro Beast has terrorized the impacted snow like a hot knife cuts through butter. I even chewed a newspaper and spat it out for later reading as if it was spaghetti! I recommend this bad boy of the snow for mid sized homes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very underpowered and certainly not Heavy Duty. I wanted a strong, well built, capable snow blower and was quite disappointed with this Toro 32" 375 cc, even though I've always relied upon this brand. It simply bogs down way too much, even in light/medium snow. At first, I thought it was bogging down but would compensate with low-end torque, but no, it's just underpowered. These larger 14" impellers require more power and this 375cc (12 HP) eats less snow than my 25 year old 10HP. When you get to a drift, or pile at the end of your drive, you need a blower that will actually handle the snow, not throw it 60ft. This machine definitely throws snow 60ft, but it struggles to actually move it very well. Also, I thought the build quality was sub-par and not as stiff and heavy duty. Spaying silicone spray on the swivel plate made the auger work better, but it was clumsy at holding the height/distance adjustment. In the end, I went with the Troy-Built 34" 420 cc (14 HP) and was amazed at the power difference. It cost $100 less, had a joy stick thumb control for the chute (they should all have this), and outriggers to stiffen the whole machine. Why Toro would sell 14" impeller machines with such low HP engines is a mystery (can't imagine what the 302cc machine would be like). You could spend $800 more and get the 420cc engine version, but that seems a rip off. I guess with underpowered machines you don't ever brake sheer pins, but that seems an idiotic trade off to not moving the snow in the first place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Toy I feel like a kid whenever there is snow in the forecast. Great machine that is built to do the job and do it well. I am glad my old snow blower broke down and could not be repaired AND that my finance ministry told me we had the funds to buy a Toro. Always wanted to own one and pretty happy it works like I thought it would be. Had it for a month, now let's see how it works in a year...and after.
