Rated 4 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT for the price! I have a decent sized Ariens snowblower that I have to maneuver on my steep driveway without slipping on the surface & having the blower run away from me or run me over. This is a much easier solution to my problem as long as it's not snowing 2ins or more an hour. My only wish for this product was that it was battery or small gas engine mix operational. I hate having to worry about having a long enough extention cord, where to plug it in (inside or outside) & where it is so I don't run it over. I would DEFINITELY recommend this product to those who can't afford a snowblower. Oh and it saves my broken back if I need to get out the house in a hurry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best thing since Sliced Bread I'm 51 year old female and my job after the storm is wielding the shovel :(. For years, the snow of the upper deck didn't get removed from the wrap around deck until spring when it finally melted but last year the amount of ice that accummulated in front of the downstair slider door became really treacherous from the slow melting and freezing of snow from above. This year I hounded my husband for a mini snow blower and he found this for me. It slides easily and handles 3-4 inches of snow easily enough. The last snow storm was 15 inches total but I went out on the deck 3 times and It didn't take long at all, and surprisenly enough if throws the snow a good distance. My husband was impressed as well.

It's only good in it's range (up to 8 inches); otherwise you have to lift it, which is a little difficult. But for small to medium storms, on smooth surfaces, it gets things done. On Consume Reports, it's rated low because, for one thing, it gets lousy grades for not being able to mofe the snow of a snow plow pile (as at the end of your driveway. But anyone who looks at this tool and thinks, "I can clear the end of the driveway after the plow goes by!" is delusional. It is not designed and built to do that. Use it clear your deck, walkway,, maybe a small parking pad, and it is fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blizzard 2016 The power shovel exceeded expectations to clear 25" of snow off a 40 ft. driveway. This product is designed for 6" or less of snow, not a record setting blizzard. The directions recommend lifting the shovel to remove snow in layers which works, however with drifting and street plowing piles, the snow depth was 45" at the end of the drive. The snow was fluffy but packed down due to drifting. By knocking the snow with a snow shovel into heights of 6", the power shovel blew the snow away, even the plow piles, with ease. Yes, it was work, but the job was completed without having to throw snow manually. No sore back from shoveling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for smaller areas I purchased the Toro snow shovel from Home Depot and we finally had a snowfall of 4 inches. The snow was heavy, but the snow shovel plowed right through with ease. It is relatively light weight and easily maneuverable. Because the snow was heavy it only threw the snow 5-6 feet which was not a problem. All the snow is thrown in front of the shovel and there is no adjustment for this. I was able to clear my sidewalk in by my front door and the driveway with ease.Using a longer electric cord would have allowed more cleaning. The cord locks in place. It sure beats using a snow shovel and saves my back. I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does as promoted I had checked around for the best deal and read the reviews. I have a small deck and small drive so I needed a small unit for little cost. With money tight I figured this is the unit I needed. Brought it home and took it out of the box and within a few minutes I was out moving snow. It threw the snow well away from the path, and after watching the way the wind was blowing keeping the path clear of blown snow was easy. It did a great job and I am looking forward to the snow that is predicted for tonight and on Thursday. No more shoveling with my bad back and breathing problems. For the price and two year warranty so far you can't beat this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the deck! I'm a 52 year old woman who always had to do our somewhat large composite deck (while the boys did the driveways with the "big toys".) The extra lifting to get the snow over the railing while shoveling was always quite a chore. I bought this and used it for the first time this winter when our predicted 6" turned into a foot of snow. Even at that depth, this power shovel pushed right through and threw the snow right over the railing...LOVE IT! It was slightly more cumbersome doing the path in the lawn out to the garage, but still much easier than shoveling. Sometimes the hardest part of shoveling is "where to put the snow"...you don't have to worry about that with this power shovel!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The product that works for me. The reason I perfer this product is,I'm partly disabled therfore I can not shovel my sidewalk or my driveway.I live in a round settings of houseing units, there are times when I pull out of my driveway I get stuck and I have to get out there and shovel my way out, because some times the caretakers do not come out to clear our drivethrew, so we have to do this ourselves.By the time I finish shoveling everything my body is in so much pain.this product is so much easerier, when the snow is soft, it is easeier to remove and plow right threw it to clear a path.when I get stuck, the snowshovel will clear enough to pull ahead and back up to get the car out

Does it come with a Power Chord?

Asked by: JuLiE B!
No cord, but buy a heavy duty cord. It may cost a bit, but wont pop breaker or get hot. I have a 100' 10 guage wire cord. I use it for high draw. I think the box says 12 guage wire cord is min.

Plan to use or Deck Steps & Small Driveway

HI, I LIVE IN R.I. NEW ENGLAND AND I WAS WONDERING HOW THIS POWER SHOVEL WILL WORK IN OUR WINTER'S , SOMETIME'S MILD , SOMETIME'S NOT. DOES IT JUST PICK UP SOFT SNOW OR CAN IT DEAL W/SLUSH? SICK OF SHOVELING , TURNING 60 AND JUST DO NOT FEEL LIKE BREAKING MY BACK ANYMORE. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!! ZACK67
Asked by: Zack67
Slush is a more dificult task even for my tractor snowblower. The snow shovel had more power than i expected and worked well on hardened crusty snow as it blew right throught it. I am very pleased. I have not used the shovel on slush but i do believe it push it away a foot and you would need to keep moving the slush forward. It throws snow 10 feet I would guess.

Will this unit pick up wet or slushy snow

I want to buy this but im not sure if it will throw slush or wet snow. I have a huge craftsman snowblower but it just picks the snow up and drops it/ jams up.
Asked by: steven1976
The unit throws the snow forward without a chute to clog or jam, but it doesn't have the power of a gas driven system. I think it would be fine for 2-3" of slush or wet snow.

Would it be practical clearing snow between and around parked cars?

Asked by: Boo
That would depend on the distance between parked cars and the extension cord length you are using. The clearing width is 12” wide.

Could this power snow shovel be used on artificial grass? We have a 12 x 12 dog area and need an alternative to shoveling/lifting snow out of it.

Trying to find lightweight electric snow shovel or smaller snow blower to clear snow for a small, open fenced (log rails and chicken wire) dog area of approximately 12' x12'. We have shoveled the area for 2 seasons now (too costly to cover it) so dogs can go out dog door to use area in winter. Artificial grass seems pretty durable, but just want to make sure a Toro snow blower or shovel would not "pull" up fibers.
Asked by: Snow lover
The Toro Power Shovel should work just fine on artificial turf provided the turf strands aren’t too long. The rotor cleans down to the surface but does not actually contact the surface making it ideal for this application.

Can you use this power shovel on grass?

We wanted a lightweight, easy-to-use shovel to blow snow from our patio, sidewalk, and clear a small path for our dog. Would this work on real grass? Just want to make sure it wouldn't dig up the grass and cause damage. Thanks
Asked by: Snowdog
The grass may be frozen and will resist being disturbed

Would I need to buy a heavy duty extension cord for this??

Asked by: SeniorinNY
I use a 14 gauge 50 foot extension cord. Beyond that a 12 gauge would be preferable. It is 7.5 amps.
