Rated 5 out of 5 by from The product that works for me. The reason I perfer this product is,I'm partly disabled therfore I can not shovel my sidewalk or my driveway.I live in a round settings of houseing units, there are times when I pull out of my driveway I get stuck and I have to get out there and shovel my way out, because some times the caretakers do not come out to clear our drivethrew, so we have to do this ourselves.By the time I finish shoveling everything my body is in so much pain.this product is so much easerier, when the snow is soft, it is easeier to remove and plow right threw it to clear a path.when I get stuck, the snowshovel will clear enough to pull ahead and back up to get the car out

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 2 Yr Warranty not enough, disposable equipment Bought mine April 2012, have used it only for 2 winter seasons, power protection lock seems to have failed and would not power on the shovel. Called Toro Customer Service, was given authorized service centers in Calgary, called these companies, need to pay for service since already out of warranty, and main issue is that they don't service electric only gas snow throwers. It's a shame I found it a good power shovel in my case where I have a number of steps from front door to the sidewalk where bulky wheeled snow throwers won't be able to work. Also saved me a few times when my car wheels got stuck in thick snow before entering the garage. Still if it's not durable it's not a good investment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Used this 3 time in 2 months and it stopped working. Took it back to the store after 3 months. The store would not take it back, told me I had to mail it back to get the warranty. It has a 1 year warranty. So, more expense and hassle for the customer. Decided to fix it myself. Took it apart, this thing is made cheap. The problem was with the bottom brush, it would not stay in contact with the commutator. If yours still works consider yourself lucky as its only a matter of time. Not and expensive product but no one wants to throw $150. Dollars away. Not recommended, doesn't deserve any stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product for small spaces. I purchased this to do my front and rear condo deck that are about 10 feet X 20 feet each. I just finished both of them in less than 15 minutes for 8 to 12 inches of snow. It is light and I had no trouble picking it up to "shave" the top layer of snow. For that, it is excellent but for a driveway...it would be the wrong purchase. The only drawback is that the snow always gets thrown in from of the shovel. no adjustment side to side but I know that going in and it would probably add too much weight to it anyway. I'm 54 years old and very picky.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Throw your snow troubles away! I purchased one in 2009 and is one of best things I have done. This product eats through snow like a monster. It throws snow a far distance. I have used it in snow that is 8 inches deep with a little effort. Getting into the rhythm and my walkway and driveway are done in much less time than using a shovel and less tiring. With any product, the individual will developed a personal "style" using this snow shovel...Next and every snowfall, I will use this Toro snow shovel...Ol'e!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME This product is great light weight and throws snow. Maybe I can put the normal shovel away now. It preforms better than I ever thought it would made a 1/2 hour job into 10 minutes and no sore back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money I am a professional product designer and this snow thrower is a poor design and next to useless, no matter the price. It's only good for a max of 6" of snow - and that only means fresh light fluffy snow, certainly not iced or hard packed. On mine the motor burned out after only 10 minutes of lightweight use, gives you an idea of quality. The gliding base is such a poor design it doesn't even slide because it's ribbed underneath and gets stuck in the snow instead of it being 2 gliders. How much more stupid can it get? The shovel is only good for the right handed AND only usable with the right hand because of the side on which the safety switch is positioned. If you try to push it with your left hand it is nearly impossible to activate the ON trigger. If a stupid design and poor ergonomics were not enough, the thing is too heavy to repeatedly keep lifting across a deeper snow bank like the user manual mentions. This essentially means - from a total effort point of view - you are better off with just a simple light push shovel which needs no chord and has no safety issues. Remember the auger is all plastic, as are all external parts hitting the snow and ice. I kept mine for too little to find out but I am pretty sure once those parts hit any show at -15C or less something is bound to crack. Snow is only blown straight ahead and direction cannot be controlled, meaning you will either cover yourself, your car or stairways with whatever you blow off your driveway. If you're only looking to clear small amounts of snow, a light shovel is sufficient. If you want a real snowblower, pay the several hundreds a good one costs and get a real machine, this one is a joke on all counts. I am surprised Toro did so little field testing on this. Don't buy this product, save your money for the real thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tool This is my second Toro Electric Shovel. I had the Plus for about 10 years and this one is just as good. I would recommend these little hand shovels to all who move snow. This sure saves your back.

Would this unit be strong enough to help remove snow from a rooftop? I'm not looking to go right down to the shingles but just to remove a layer the snowpack. I'm definitely looking forward to using it on the deck as well. Thanks!

How long is the wire? So we can use up to how far from power outlet?

Asked by: pdhj0002
The length of the power cord will be up to you. The unit doesn't come with one so when you purchase the unit you will need to purchase a power cord at the length that would suit your needs. I hope this helps.
