Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Breezy lawn mowing Bought this Toro and coming from a older machine I felt how easy it was to use with the help of self propelled motors and 4 wheel drive any rough terrain can be effortlessly mowed. The self propelled function can get you surprised if one never used it but can be learned in a few minutes. Motor is quiet so you can mow the lawn early morning and not worry about neighbours getting awaken to motor. The Toro #02349 looks nice too and my neighbour even complimented me on the machine saying he has a similar model and has had great experiences with it.

Is it possible to disengage the front wheel drive so that the mower is powered only by the rear wheels, and thus has more power moving forward?

    Asked by: mario20
I wanted to see if this could be easily converted to a rear wheel drive machine because I read reviews that the belts that drive the front wheels can easily get fouled up by grass clippings, hence stopping the mower from moving forward. I was also hoping that converting it to a rear wheel drive only (by deactivating the front wheel drive) can provide more power to the rear wheels as it now has to power the rear wheels only, therefore enabling it to climb steeper inclines more easily. Other reviews say that the AWD is good for flat lawns, but may not perform as well on hilly/inclined terrain, so....

I want a recycling lawn mower that mulches the grass such that I don't have to bag it or side chute it. Just cut it, mulch it and leave it on the lawn. Will this mower do this? Also, why have people mentioned having problems steering it?

    Asked by: James
This would be a good choice for mulching. The motor is quick to start (just had it going after all winter in the shed) and quite strong. Real long grass is it's Achilles heel , but normal lawn cutting is a breeze. No steering problems for me. It runs like a rabbit so if you engage the AWD be ready to start walking. I have another Toro , Personal Pace with side discharge for overgrown grass areas, and both are superior lawn mowers.

Side-Discharge Deflector, 2013 and After 21in Steel Deck Mower where do I get this? does the lawn mower need this?

    Asked by: dp666
Thank you for your question. It is not needed, you can still recycler (mulch) or bag the clippings. In order to avoid waste and help the environment, a side discharge chute is not included (since most customers prefer to mulch or bag their grass clippings). If you do want to use a side discharge chute for your clippings, Toro will send a side discharge chute to you at no additional charge when you register your mower at toro.com.
