Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a great experience-no fault of the mower I bought this mower yesterday (last one on the shelf) and the box was opened. I was told it was returned because prev customer was not satisfied. When I got home and tried it, the Self Propelled drive system was not working. I cut the grass without it which was a good workout. When looking a little closer, I saw that someone had neglected to install 2 screws that hold the drive cable to a plate which attaches to the housing assembly thus the reason for the self propel system not working. I am assuming this is why someone returned it however it should have been tested before putting it back on the shelf! I have asked Toro to send me the 2 screws and until then I will need to use it without the drive assist. That lack of attention is what frustrates customers. :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clean cut, but flaky in parts I have been using the lawnmower since I bought it on 25 May 2021, while it has it's quirks it does a fine job for it was designed for, longer taller lawns. The battery life is great, I can mower 4500 Sq. Ft. lawn, twice on one charge. The walking speed was way too fast for me, so I had to fiddle with that adjustment to get it better for my speed. When I unpacked the mower the Smartstow handle bolts were loose and coming off. The rear stone rubber flappy things is a pain! It always rolls under the mower and I have to lift the mower when I backup otherwise it gets stuck underneath the mowing deck. It then scraps a pile of grass clipping to the end of a cut, which you have to deal with. There is another design flaw it that there are hex nut bolts that stick into out into the underside of the deck. This bolts catch grace clippings and pile up making a messy to clean up. The clipping are a great size and really disappear into the canopy of the lawn. But DO NOT try to use this mower to suck up clipping into the collection bag, it just does not work. My Honda mower does that far better. So if you need to renovate you lawn, forget using this one to scalp your lawn. It will be a waste of time. Now the BIG issues: I regularly (once a month) clean the mower with just the garden hose, NOT a pressure washer. Today after cutting the lawn I figured it was time to wash the under deck of grass. In the process of that the paint under the deck started to flake off in large chunks, around 3" x 3" in area. My lawn is stone free and flat with no obstructions to damage the mower deck. There are other places the black paint was faded or not bee applied correctly. I guess this is not normal and what recourse do I have to get this corrected at no cost to me. For almost 7 weeks of ownership and use this is not acceptable by any standards. See attached pictures.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Toro Recycler 21-inch SmartStow 60V lawn mower RWD Bought this 2 weeks ago. Very easy to setup out from the box & easy to follow user manual. Good 6.0Ah battery life, still have 3 out of 4 bars left on the battery after cutting my slightly sloped, small city lawn of 3,000 sq. ft. However, self propel does not work out of the box because the control cable have too much slack. Needs to adjust the cable manually to get it working. Rear deflector flap can easily rolled under the mower when backing up. The user manual does not mention the height adjustment of the handle, even though it can be adjusted. Overall it is easy to operate, much lighter than my old gas powered lawn mower & quieter (measured 78 db at the control area). I only use mulching and it seems to do a decent job on that. When I registered the product online, I have an option to get the side discharge kit sent to me free of charge, which I received it within a week. Overall, I am satisfied with the lawn mower but the self propel should operate out of the box. Have to see how the battery can hold the charge up as time goes by in the next couple of years.

How long does the battery take to charge?

I'm interested in purchasing this and the snow blower on winter. This is 6 amp battery and snow blower comes with 7.5 amp battery. What's the difference? Are they compatible with both machine? Can I use lawn mower battery on snow blower( vice versa)

All 60v batteries will work across all Toro 60v tools. However, it is not suggested to use the 2.5ah battery as your single source of power in either the snow blower or the lawn mower due to the power requirement in those types of applications. The 2.0ah or the 2.5ah battery would be best used to supplement a 4.0ah, 6.0ah or 7.5ah battery for additional run time. Thank you.

What are the differences between this model (#21356/Store SKU # 1001238502) versus this model (#21466|Store SKU # 1001594493) Thank you

Model # 21466 has a 22" deck, Personal Pace self-propel, Vortex Technology to increase air flow, Bag On Demand and rear high wheels for increased traction. Model # 21356 has a 21” deck and variable speed self-propel. Both mowers have the SmartStow feature and come with the 6.0ah 324 WH (L324) 60V Battery. Runtime for the 21356 is about 45 minutes and runtime for 21466 is about 40 minutes. Charge time for the battery for both mowers is 150 minutes. Thank you.

I own this lawn mower and have the L324 battery. I am looking to buy a Toro snow thrower that comes with the L405 battery. The snow thrower say it can be used with the L324 battery. Can this lawn mower be used with the L405 battery?
