It is very easy to setup, operate and much easier on arthritic wrists because you don’t have to squeeze anything at an angle like the 2 handle versions do. So far it has met and exceeded my expectations!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Different snowblower I didn't really understand when I bought this that it is a one stage snowblower and I was replacing a 20 year old 10.5 hp two stage snowblower. I had read good reviews which basically stated that this was the only snowblower most homeowners would ever need so I ordered one. I've had good luck with Toro lawnmower products. Prompt delivery. Easy to get out of the box and set up. Smaller than the old one which I means more room in the garage. The drive wheels activate when you walk forward pressing on the handlebars and that takes some getting used to but I can see it becoming second nature. Very maneuverable. Now the difference is that the impeller rotates much faster than a regular snowblower and in the first and only use so far, which was the recent 5 inches of wet snow it had no trouble clearing everything down to the brick driveway and throwing the snow at least 15 feet. It seemed not to be slowed much by heavier sections either. It seems to have leather on the impeller which may need replacement sometime but it allows it to really scrape the driveway clean and although it could be wider than 24 inches it moves more quickly than other snowblowers so you are done quicker. It really is a new way to blow snow and I'm glad I'm the first on the block to own one. Mostly when you think of one stage machines they are meant for brushing light snow but this one really works.

Purchased the Toro SnowMaster QXE 824 last year and was trying to set the scraper height as per the instructions. The lowest I can get it is 3/8 in but the manual says it will go 3/16 or lower for a more aggressive scrape. I have skids on the lowest sett

Does the SnowMaster 824 QXE have the "triggerless" automatic steering system?

Is there a Reverse gear?

The unit does not have an auto reverse but is light enough, there is very little resistance to pulling it backwards.
