Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for small rooms only. It couldn't beat the heat in an uninsulated building that was within the size of the parameters. It just couldn't keep up, poor little guy. Good value it'd be great in a small camper or a real small room in a house but not in a shed or garage they had no insulation. Was quiet, the only thing I didn't like is the air sort of came out the top of the front and it was kind of weird when it was poking through the wall. Save the house all double your budget and get something better

We stay in there in the Spring and Fall. Sometimes we also have the air on in the master bedrm only inside and stay in there but that room is bigger than this room. It is better on the environment staying in the back. Our old unit stopped working. I think technology has gotten better because this one really cools the room down alot. The room is 25 by 25 for less money. We shut the door to the restrm. & closet.

Puts out cold air to cool my 112 sq. ft. tiny house pretty well. Simple, sleek design. The last window AC I had (LG 5,000 BTU) had a drain plug outside, but I could not find a drain plug on this Toshiba. Hopefully the apparent lack of a drain plug doesn't cause problems. I've only had it for about a week, so I'm not sure on longevity, but hopefully it keeps working.

Water seems to be pooling attracting a ton of bugs. I hear the water is supposed to pool so the fan can splash cool. Is it fine to spray this out and then put insect screen over the exterior vents?

Asked by: Guss
Yes, the condensate pan does contain water, which normally evaporates as long as your ac is running and level, however if you allow the ac to run on fan only for 15 to 30 minutes before turning the ac off, that will dry up any left over condensation. Using a screen to keep out insects will work, but might not be necessary if you pan is kept empty and dry.

How do I stop the water from building in the top vents of the unit? It sounds like it is raining inside the unit.

Hi, FloridaHot. Thank you for taking the time to share your question about the Toshiba 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner. Droplets of water hitting condenser during normal operation may cause a trickling sound. This could be what you're hearing. Please also ensure the unit is tilted as instructed in the manual for proper draining. Have a good day! Toshiba Customer Care. (BBB A+ Accredited Business)

Two questions, related to a ton of dead bugs sitting in the rear of the unit. Only been a week and smells: 1) Is it safe to spray out the rear of the unit with a water hose? 2) Can I put some type of insect screen to cover the large openings on the rear?

Asked by: Guss
Hi, Guss. Thank you for asking your question about the Toshiba 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner. You are able to spray the back half of the unit to clean it out. We do not recommend blocking the unit in any way with a screen, though. Have a nice day. Toshiba Customer Care. (BBB A+ Accredited Business)

Where is the filter for toshiba air conditioner SN340719775018C240250600

Asked by: Billie
The filter pulls out from the units left side. It has some flex but still just clears my window frame for cleaning. The filter is about 13 and 1/2 inch long.
