Rated 1 out of 5 by from No cool air Don't waste your money. I put this unit in a 100 sq foot room and no noticeable difference. Slightly less humid in the room but the last thing I'd call this product is an air conditioner. It's like it doesn't have an air compressor in it. On lowest temp, max fan, the air is not even remotely cold coming out of it, just "less warm" than the air that's already there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well in bedrooms This unit works quite well for keeping us comfortable and cool in our 10x12 bedroom at night. It has a hard time keeping up with the afternoon sun we get in our living room however. I will echo other reviewers who say the unit is loud - it is but not is loud that we can’t sleep. Installation was very easy and the wheels work well for moving the unit from room to room.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't stay on cold setting We bought this a month ago and expected great things out of it. Our issue is that we can't seem to get it to stay on the cold setting. We will set it and within five minutes, it changes to the dry setting. In that setting, it isn't cooling the house at all. How do we get it to stay on the cool setting? I have checked the troubleshooting issues and nothing is mentioned. I was so excited to purchase this unit but have had nothing but trouble with the cooling part of it. We are having 98 degree days right now and this has not been a good purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Missing parts and horrific e-service Bought this unit yesterday, set up today and found I was missing the end caps on the exhaust tube that fit into the adapters - apparently a common issue. Tried using Toshiba's email support 3 different times with a website error each time. Tried leaving a review on their site with the same issue. The unit itself is cooling the space pretty well thus far but given their quality control and their website issues I'm skeptical as to how long the unit will work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The loudest. I just installed. Was easy. Vent could be longer. But oh my is it ever loud! Will try sleeping tonight but the noise seems unbearable. It also took 2 weeks to ship. Totally regret purchasing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works, but is WAY TOO LOUD! I received it quickly, set it up very quickly, and as soon as I turned it on everything was OK. When the AC kicks in (not just the fan) the resulting sound was so loud that I had to call Home Depot for a return. The delivery box was banged up, dented with scratches and one tear. It kind of felt like an open-box and not a brand new AC. All ACs make noise. But this one sounds like a refrigerator and a fan running at constant speed. Usually ACs will make a bit of noise when the compressor starts up so it can begin cooling the air. But the noise persists until you set it to fan only... it's unbearable. I bought it for my bedroom and it cools the room within 20 minutes, however I need to sleep with ear plugs. And I am someone who sleeps with fans during the winter just for the white noise! This is loud even by my standards. I think the model was defective, but either way for nearly $400 you'd think it would be more quiet. Pressing "sleep mode" made absolutely no difference sound-wise, it legit feels like a fake feature. Returned.

This unit says it is 115V does that mean it can run off a 2 pin plug?

Asked by: Ashley
No, it requires a 3 pin connector. 115V is the Voltage, where as the unit's power usage dictates requirements for the ground pin.

Just so I'm clear - when running in 'cool' or air conditioning mode, it does NOT need any external drain hose? In the manual it refers to locating the hose close to the basement drain but doesn't specifically say that a drain hose is not needed...confirm?

Asked by: Trying to be cool
I used it for one summer season and i did not drain anything. Either its optimized or its made it in a way to have minimum water drainage. You can just out a little bucket just in case.
