Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome stuff I bought it from the store and expected something akin to the slat board stuff, this stuff is MUCH stronger and very easy to install. I spent 2 days doing a kitchen and a landing and it looks absolutely fantastic and definitely feels like it will last a long time. Definitely will purchase again should I ever need to!

I placed in my kitchen and family area. Easy to clean, and is very attractive and easy to install. I get lots of complements on flooring. I chose dark parquet. Very nice, so glad I didn’t use laminate flooring.

We installed this in a 4-season sun room which we planned to turn into a "pool room" for our table. It looks STUNNING! Installation was pretty easy. We ended up putting down some leveler in a couple places, but I don't even think we needed to do that. I plan on buying this type of flooring in a different pattern for our basement and kitchen.

I understand that using adhesive will void the warranty but what installation method can I use to install this flooring on stairs. I have a small entrance and 3 stairs leading to the kitchen and I want to tie it all together with the same flooring.

Asked by: Larry the Minister Guy
Thank you for your question- You are correct, we don't recommend installing on stairs. Doing so will void warranty. WIth that said, and you decide to install on the stairs, you would just need to use a good quality adhesive.

You say it can go over existing tile, but what if the existing tile has slightly indented grout lines? Do we have to use a self-leveling compound to flatten everything out before installing the tiles?

    Asked by: skipster
Thanks for your question. Grout lines larger than 1/8" do need to be filled in/leveled.

Do we need to put down any 6 mil protective plastic (over exisitng concrete)before we lay the Allure Chateau Parquet??

When we ordered the flooring, the first Home Depot Representative told us that we did not have to put down any 6 mil plastic before laying the Allure, but a second Representative said that we should put down the protective plastic before the flooring. Who is right?? Thank you. Connie H
    Asked by: Anonymous
The 6 mil depends on the moisture in your concrete subfloor. Allure is water resistant and will withstand holding water for short periods of time if the product is installed properly. Allure is not flood proof! Allure is not meant as water proofing material nor a solution for moisture. Moisture intrusion is a totally different situation that can arise with new and old concrete that exhibits very high levels of hydrostatic pressure in combination with very high levels of alkalinity. This combination provides a substance that is highly corrosive. No floor covering including Allure can withstand the long term corrosive nature of this chemical. Hydro static pressure exceeding 8 lbs using the calcium chloride test method and or a P.H test indicates alkalinity levels in excess of 9, steps must be taken to separate Allure from the source of the corrosive effect of this chemical. Excessive moisture in the subfloor can cause mold and mildew, and other moisture related issues including but not limited to trapping of the moisture emissions under Allure. Under these circumstances the concrete needs to be treated with a floor sealer that seals the concrete under the 8 lbs. or a moisture/vapor barrier (6 mil poly) is installed. This is necessary to avoid the corrosive effects. Newly poured concrete floors must cure for a minimum of 90 days. It is the responsibility of the home owner and the installer to make sure that any moisture or alkalinity issues are resolved prior to installing Allure.

would 1 box be sufficient enough to tile a room approximately 97x61inches?

    Asked by: Anonymous
I calculate your room to be 41.1 sq ft. One case of this flooring will cover 21.3 SF. Most installations require 10% overage for cutting (waste) and mistakes but that can vary depending upon the room size and layout. It is always recommended to have extra planks available after the installation is completed for future needs or replacement. You will need to purchase three cases of flooring for this room.

Must the existing subfloor be completely flat before we instal the Allure vinyk floor?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Allure can be installed over most existing floors including wood, vinyl, linoleum, ceramic tiles and concrete. All subfloors must be sound, solid and have little flexibility. Tolerance is 3/16” over 8’.
