Hampton Oak is a European made Laminate Flooring which offers high grade style, design, and performance. This flooring is 8mm thick and Greenguard Gold certified (Best certification for indoor uses) for healthier homes. The product features an AC3 melamine wear layer impregnated with Aluminum Oxide for added durability. This product offers a triple warranty against fading, staining, and wear. For installation below grade, over crawl spaces or on concrete, a moisture/vapour barrier is required. This may be provided as a feature of the underlayment or, in the case of an underlayment without moisture/vapour barrier, a 6-mil poly moisture/vapour barrier must be installed and sealed before the underlayment. Please always refer to the installation instructions specific to your product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good. I bought a bunch of this to redo some of the flooring in my house. I have very little experience doing any flooring work but figured it can't be that hard and it isn't. After a while I eventually broke down and read the instructions. Install went pretty quick after that. It's a little tricky to get an entire row lined up then into place by yourself but it seems to be the best way to do it. If you need to hammer on the edges to get them together use a scrap piece of the flooring and be careful not to smash the pieces together or you'll wreck them and end up with ridges at the seams. Overall I'm happy with this product and will buy more to do my entire basement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great, pain to install Now that this flooring is in my home, I love it. It is a bit annoying though that you need to use (and buy) additional underlay. If I were to do it again, I would find a laminate that is an all-in-one. This flooring seemed to be the best priced in the colour I wanted but I didn’t factor in the underlay. Maybe it’s the case with all laminate, but I found the corners often peeled or broke while I was cutting and installing. I have a few spots where I didn’t notice until afterwards and am far too lazy to go back and replace at this point. Overall, I say if you love the colour of this flooring, go for it! Just factor in underlay and extras.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible product We bought about 1700 square feet. Had to finish one 200 square foot room with boxes we opened; then returned the rest. Lots of chipping and easily scratched. To lay it; you start with your first row like normal. On the second row you connect it end-to-end and then have to fit the tongue of the whole row in to the first row. This was my third floor I’ve ever done and I was helping someone who used to sell and install flooring. This product fought with us the whole way. Poor and easily broken milling and lots of chipping. Do not recommend; besides the lower price it has no redeeming features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from looks great! I had read good reviews of this product and want to concur. It looks great. It's new so I can't say how it holds up as of yet. It's nice and light and neutral and was a great price. The product suggests clicking in a full row at a time but I would like to add that once that becomes too difficult for one person (I'm convinced the rows grow out of sync although you can't see it) you can click in each plank along its width (keeping the length a bit away from its length partner) and then angle in and hammer along its length. I wish they would include the plank by plank method in their instructions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute trash This flooring is perfect if you hate your inlaws, if your neighbor stole your wife and you're somehow stuck renovating their new Lakehouse, then I highly recommend this product. If you put your hard earned money into your home, don't use this glorified cardboard, use something that has a built in underlay, where the interlocking tabs don't break as a whole strip. The 98 cents a square foot was too good to be true, now I'm out over $1000 because I took it to a remote community and can't bring it back. Long story short, don't get this product!!

I bought this, started installing it (cheapest laminate I've worked with), noticed that you can scratch out the grooves with your nail... Didn't hold out much hope but it went together well if you are careful. There is a small 1/4" crease in my floor and after about 1week of walking on it the section there has come. Undone and it is of course in the middle of my living room. I have since stapled it down but not sure how long it will last. For simple, flat rooms it will work though dropping anything on it mars or damages the surface. Heck stepping on a stone took. Off the grey grain. I would recommend only if it is a not often used room and if you are very careful putting things onto it!

I was looking for something inexpensive for the basement and something that wouldn’t make my black dogs hair stand out, this flooring did the trick! It was a bit difficult in the beginning to try and get them to lock together, ended up doing an entire row at a time, taped the seams with painters tape and then tilted the entire row into the previous row. Once we figured that out, it was pretty easy to install! It does already have a scratch, but I have moved furniture around since and there have been no scratches. The scratch may have been a result of pushing a very heavy object that didn’t have those furniture pads to protect the floor. All in all a great product.

Does this product have the underlayment attached or do you have to buy it separately?

8mm Silver Oak does not have an attached pad. Underlayment is required and must be purchased separately. Your local Home Depot store flooring associate will be able to assist with this.

can the floors be steam clean

I'm not sure about steam cleaning buy I use the swiffer wet jet on it once a week and I have no issues. My advice would be not to soak it with too much water and you'll be ok.

dose this come with attached foam backing?

Hampton Oak laminate flooring does not have an attached pad. Underlayment must be used under Hampton Oak laminate flooring. If the installation is being done on concrete or on a wood sub-floor below grade then the underlayment must have a vapour/moisture barrier included OR a 6 mil (6/1000in) poly vapour/moisture barrier is required to be installed beneath the underlayment.

Waiting for the T moulding I ordered. Part # 1001121297. But would like to lay the laminate down, but need to know the dimensions of the T moulding. This is for the Hampton Oak 8mm laminate
