It looked great after it was installed but quickly became a massive regret and big waste of time and money. The product states it is ok in temperature controlled rooms, but in areas of sunlight, the planks have separated and even lifted. It is also suppose to be scratch resistant, but there are marks all under our dining room table which rarely gets used. This product is suppose to be supported by a 25 yr residential warranty and didn't even last us 1 year. I cannot find any company contact information to activate the "warranty" and get this replaced for us. I don't not recommend this product or brand at...

I should put a before and after picture on here - the floor looks fantastic and we're very pleased (note that we're finicky about the aesthetics of our surroundings, not easy to please) - living in a rental apartment we didn't want to spend very much, we were prepared to settle for 'ok' but honestly, it turned out better than we expected. The flooring is quite easy to install. It takes a bit to get the knack of laying the flooring down and it is easier with two people, although one person could manage.

I have never laid flooring before and I'm not very handy but this product was easy to use, just measure and cut with a knife. I used it in a condo. I ripped out the carpet and laid this vinyl flooring right on the concrete. It is flexible and has a thin soft padding on the underside, so it hides any imperfections in the concrete. I even used it to cover tiles in the kitchen and it worked beautifully. I will use this product again in another property I have. And it has a 25 year warranty from Home Depot. Love it!

Easy to move into any room, because it's in boxes, and not a 12' roll, very easy to install, at first we just did the kitchen, it looked great. Most visitors could not tell it wasn't real wood. The diversity of the planks is good but a few more patterns wouldn't hurt. After a couple months of washing, sweeping and traffic, we did the dining, hallway and living room.The cost was about $1400.00, but the value went up a good $6000.00 if not more. Should anything happen to a part of it, burn or a cut, removing a piece to replace it is no problem, just cut it, pull it out and add a new plank. Great stuff, highly recommended.

It was VERY difficult to install... the strips kept slipping apart and, after many tries (pulling it all up and starting from a different angle then pulling it up and starting again... and again... and again), my contractors finally managed to get it done. It looked fantastic! Now, 2 weeks later, it's starting to come apart in many places, and it seems my worst fear is going to become a reality... we are going to have to pull it all up again and put down something else... I am NOT happy!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Found the right material This 3.8mm trafficMaster golden maple vinyl plank floor material is very good for my basement floor which is not very well levelled concrete floor for thick vinyl floor. I had tried to use levelling cement to level the concrete floor but failed because of the levelling cement is very expensive. The 3.8mm glue connection vinyl floor material does not fear the "a little bit un-levelled concrete floor condition", they just connects themselves to a whole and make floor shiny, wood like, easy to clean, and water resistant. If you have similar situation, you are encouraged to try this.

I had read some reviews that it was difficult to cut, but if you use sharp blades in your knife and cut on the underside of the planks, it really does snap easily after scoring. For the lengthwise cuts we scored then bent the planks and then kept the plank folded almost in half lengthwise and ran the knife along the joined area and that worked like a charm. I even cut it with scissors, although I think they were actually poultry shears, but worked great. I love my new cherry hall floor and am going to carry on into the family room and possibly kichen and eating area I like it so much.

One problem I encountered was my miscalculation, leaving a 2" strip to be cut and installed along one short wall. The other involved 90 degree cuts to go around doors and stairs. The cuts left a slightly ragged edge so the seams are not 100% tight but are okay. The floor is darker than the picture. I prefer the lighter colour but now that the whole room has been completed I like it a lot.

Does this product need underlayment ?

Thanks for your question. This product cannot be used with underlayment. If you have a wood subfloor, you'll need to install directly on top. If your subfloor is concrete, you'll need to use 6 mil poly sheeting as a moisture barrier.

If this gets scratched, does the scratch show white or is the Vinyl Flooring coloured all the way through?

I have had the flooring for two years and 4 dogs with sharp claws. We have not has any significant scratches, just surface markings that can mostly dissapear with a good cleaning. A few don't dissapear but they are difficult to see unless you look at the right angle. So nothing deep enough to know if it is coloured all the way through.

Why is the thickness of this vinyl so much thinner then others I’ve received samples of? I love this colour, but I’m nervous it doesn’t have the backing like the others seem to. I do have a subfloor down.

I don’t know why it is thinner but we used it in an upstairs bedroom and it is still as lovely as when we first installed it. Keep in mind this is not a high traffic area.

Golden Maple 6-inch x 36-inch Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring. Is this product suitable to use over an underlay?

I was a rank amateur installing this flooring but here goes. The floor would likely feel good when done however you may encounter real issues when installing it. I don't think there's any way that you wouldn't make a small fitting error and want to pull the piece off to fit it again. That might cause a problem because the sticky strips really stick and may pull up the underlayment, tear holes in it or something else. Just a thought and I don't know what you're considering for underlayment material or why you feel you would need it.

Could you use this type of flooring to replace flooring in an RV?? Would a cold winter affect it?

Is this flooring compatible with Radiant heated flooring.

Im not a flooring specialist, but this flooring is held together with adhesive and I wouldn't recommend it. The heat may reduce the efficacy of the adhesive.
