Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time user of composite Very strong, texture looks great, has the feel of wood but lasts forever. The Grooved boards are easy to use and look great no screw holes. Colours are very nice also. We used the Saddle Brown and Clam Grey together. Well worth the extra money over pressure treated boards.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Composite Deckboards will not be Cut at Home Depot This product is very nice to work with once you get used to how 'flexible' it is when ordered in 16 foot or greater lengths. It cuts just like wood and is easy to install with correct fasteners and screws. The major complaint I have with Home Depot on this product is that they DO NOT cut these boards at the store so that you can transport home easily, and more importantly they do not inform you of this when buying lengths over 8 feet. Apparently they will not cut the boards as they say the composite materials 'clog' up their vacuum system. This is simply a bad excuse, as I cut these boards for my entire project at home and experience zero 'clogging' on any of my saws or vacuum bag connections. As a result of this Home depot policy I had to make two trips to pick up this material: Second trip with a trailer that could accomodate 16 foot composite boards. This would not have been a problem if Depot simply notified me when I selected 16 foot boards that it will NOT cut composite boards at the store. This should be a very simple 'rule' to add into their online shopping software for buyers, since these products must be ordered online first. i.e. Not stocked in the store.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Trex Enhance Saddle sample deck board [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The brown on this deck sample board is a dark brown which brings out many of the imperfections in the faux wood. From far off, you can’t tell it is fake, but once you touch it you can. The grooves in the bottom are nice and after doing research it is to help with moisture build up and let water run off. I am not sure how the bottom of a deck would get wet, I guess leaking through cracks on top. Overall, very well made and seems pretty solid even though it is faux.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Boards bought from Home Depot were warped. I bought the 12 foot lengths that were on the shelf at Home Depot. I should have paid more attention to them as I assumed they were not warped. I got them home and when I put them on the deck, every one of them was warped. If you set them on edge you could easily see the warp. On one edge they were like a rocking chair. On the other edge the ends would touch but at least half an inch would not touch in the middle. Every single board I had to wrestle with to get it to stay straight.

Does this composite decking stay cool enough to walk on with bare feet?

Hello Ktrags24 Like many other outdoor surfaces, such as concrete, asphalt, beach sand, wood decking, other brands of composite decking, etc., Trex decking can get hot due to weather and sun exposure. On such days, care needs to be taken to make sure skin does not have extended contact with the surface of the deck, especially with young children and pets. Please note also that the darker the color, the hotter the deck will feel, so for hotter climate areas, consumers should consider choosing a lighter color.

Is this product scratch resistant ?

Yes it is. I dragged patio furniture with plastic feet on it without issue. They are plastic so I would not drag anything metal on them. Good product, very happy with them

I want to use this on a dock. How slippery is this product when wet? Does this product get hot in direct sunlight.

We recommend using caution if the boards are wet or icy. Trex decking is just like any other outdoor surface that sits in the sun, on extremely hot days it can become uncomfortably hot. Can I use this for garden bed?

Not sure what you mean by garden bed. You can use it anywhere you would use wood except this will not rot or deteriorate. It also has enough flex that you can curve the wood.
