I first bought a much larger and more expensive unit by another company. It was double the cost of this Troy-Bilt, and had a few more features. However, I found this Troy-Bilt to be a great value! The Troy-Bilt 2410 has some real advantages over larger models, its easily maneuverable (no power steering, but it's light enough that you don't really need it), quieter, compact for storage, yet very capable at snow removal. Our area can receive lake effect snows, but rarely over 16" so this unit is all that I need. The thing I like the most is that I don't have a $$$$ unit sitting in the garage waiting for the occasional snow, but when we get a storm, this unit is ready to handle it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid This blower starts first pull and has since I unboxed it. I hit a heavy duty garden fence and the sheer pins failed before anything was bent. My yard is about 2 1/2 ft deep in snow and this thing cleared paths in it for my kids and dogs. I e seen some of these reviews saying that it is weak or that it failed. It has to be user error as this thing is super solid. And very strong. The one thing I did was change the oil before I used it because I didnt trust that there was enough or the quality from the factory. My only complaint is with the chute. Its plastic and was too big for the space provided. It would catch on the motor casing. I needed to file down the plastic base of the chute for clearance or it wouldnt rotate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome machine First snow blower I've ever purchased and I'm 58. Simply put gas in it & it started on the first pull. Haven't used the electronic start feature yet. It went through a 10 inch wet snow like a knife through butter. Have about a 30 ft driveway & about a 30 ft narrow road leading up to my house with a pretty good incline. It took care of it in under two hours with no problem. Something that would have taken all day to hand shovel along with back & knee pain to follow. Very pleased with this purchase.

I won't add more accolades, it is a great machine at a good price. I've owned mine since 2010. Mine has a Troy-Bilt 179cc engine. One thing I will add - the ease of changing the oil (which should be done annually) The drain plug is in the back of the machine. Very easy to use. Some other brands put the drain up against the tire which make a simple maintenance item a messy chore.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful Bought this snowblower in September planning to be ready for the winter. Didn't get much snow until late December and January. Used it twice and on the third time it blew the seal and leaked oil everywhere. Contacted warranty and got the run around between the warranty and the service provider. finally after 2 weeks we got the snowblower back just before a snow storm. We got 30cm of snow and went to use the snowblower again and the seal blew again. Didn't even get the chance to clear the driveway. Had to be done by hand. Biggest waste of money. I would return the machine if they would take it back and I will never be purchasing their products again....

This thrower came well-assembled, well-packaged, oil was in the crankcase, and all parts were there. The engine sounds better than the (similar) model it replaced, and it moves the wet snow nicely, The skids are also better quality than the ones on the older (now stolen) Troy-BIlt thrower it replaced. I did miss the short electric cord that came with the old one, but since the thieves left me the old cord it doesn't make any difference. These things are supposed to be "insurance" against having lots of snow: if you buy one then it won't snow. We'll see about that and be ready for whatever comes down...

TroyBilt will not stand by their warranty if you leave fuel in the engine when not using the snowblower. This model in particular has gotten a lot of bad reviews because it's in the small print at the back of the manual and no one sees it. Many people have purchased this model and had to take it in for repairs within the first year. I used my twice and now it won't start because I didn't drain the tank at the end of winter last year. It's going to cost me over $200 to repair. Used it twice. And just as a heads up if you do need any repair at all, you are responsible for getting the machine to the repair shop. They don't come to you.

We had 7" of wet snow and this blower chewed right through it on the slowest speed. The electric start (using an extension cord) was easy as I followed the directions exactly. It was also easy to restart with the recoil starter. The blower also was able to remove the pile at the end of the drive from the town plowing. I am very happy with this initial performance.

Do you have to mix the gas and oil together ? Or do they go in separate? Not sure if two stage is the same as two cycle engine

Asked by: AliMonibah
Hello AliMonibah. This snow blower has a 4 cycle engine so you do not need to mix fuel and oil. The fuel and oil have their own separate reservoirs. Thank you for your question.

What is the best snowblower for a long gravel driveway that is easy to operate

Asked by: Valerie
We have a 300’ sloped gravel driveway and bought the Troy-Bilt 24” 208cc 2 Stage gas snow blower. It has “shoes” that you can adjust the height of to raise it just above the height of the gravel so you’re not spraying so much of the gravel everywhere. It’s self propelled so it makes easy work of going up and down the driveway. I find it much better and quicker than our previous snow blower. I’m a small 5’ 52 year old woman and I find it easy to use.

What kind of oil do I need to use? And do I need to mix it?

Asked by: Steven
Hi Steven. Thank you for your question. The Troy-Bilt Storm 24 in. 208 cc Two- Stage Gas Snow Blower is a 4-cycle engine that uses a 5w-30 standard oil or a 10w-30 synthetic oil. This snow blower does NOT use a gas/oil mix. Use at least an 87-octane gas, although an 89 or higher octane will give you better engine performance and easier starts. https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/d9/d90c3eab-6ca4-4a0b-9581-d5c1583665ed.pdf Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. This unit isn't equipped with a throttle control or engine off switch. What is best practice for shutting machine off?

Asked by: Jess
Just picked up one of these machines and I can confirm that there is no throttle. The only way to shut off the machine is to remove the key.

Why does it last only 1 season?

Asked by: SnowedIn
Hello SnowedIn. There could be blockage in the fuel lines or float bowl of the carburetor from leftover fuel. If you’re familiar with how to clean a carburetor, we suggest using a carburetor cleaner. Otherwise, we recommend you take it to your nearest authorized service center for cleaning. Thank you.
