Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Soothing Heat This is a fantastic product. Inserted this below tiled floor and wow, what a fantastic feeling to walk on heated tiles. Super easy product to work with, and I recommend this product over the "mat" style, which I have in my bathrooms and was perfect for that application. However, when doing a large room, its nice to be able to put the heat directly where you want it. I left about 1.5 ft away from the walls, and wound the wires exactly where I wanted them. Excellent!! Highly recommended for the do it yourselfer!

Plan on installing in a kitchen and dining room under tile. Thinking two separate 240v for larger square footage. Does each thermostat need a separate double 15amp breaker or can I run the two on one?

    Asked by: Matt
Good morning Matt, The thermostat will take up to 300 sq.ft. at 240 volts before it requires a second thermostat. If Under 300 sq.ft. or 15 amps of heating cable, both will be connected in the thermostat. If you need more information do not hesitate to contact our Customer service. Kind regards,

Is there any advantage in puchasing the 240 v true comfort floor heating system over the 120v system?

    Asked by: Anonymous
The heating cables and Mats are 3 watts per lineaire feet, 120 or 240 volts will have power in the floor, the difference is that you will be able to have more quare foot on 240 volts. Maximum on thermostat are : 240 volts = 300 sq.ft. 120 volts = 150 sq,ft Hope this helps.

    Installation

Our kitchen floor is finished . Can I install this system under the foor (in the basement) and insulate over it to make sure the heat goes up . Is this efficient enough
    Asked by: Anonymous
It is not possible for the True Comfort heating cable or Mats to be installed under a subfloor. The CSA and Electrical Code approbation of the heating cables and Mats are for on top of subfloor. Warranty will be void and can be fire hazard. Hope this helps.

Can this product be installed with tape instead of the fastening gages provided?

The reason for this question is to know if the tiles can be set right after the installation...not having to apply mortar, twice, due to the height of the fastening gages.
    Asked by: Anonymous
For warranty issues we want the cable to be installed with gages, for thin set mortar you have two choices, either the cable is installed thinset let it dry and next day do more mortar and tile, which is what we recommend, or you can set cable thinset apply mortar, just need to be very careful when installing tiles. Hope this helps.
