Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to program Had the truecomfort cable installed and my family and I are so pleased with the result! It's crazy how much heat radiates from the floors, and yet they are not super warm to the touch - they're just perfect and feel so good under our feet. Had the programmable thermostats installed in different rooms and am so satisfied and pleased! They look great, they are very quiet and very easy to program. So now just before I get up at 6, my thermosat makes sure that my floors are at the desired temperature. Same thing when the kids come back from school and we get back from the office. Many thumbs up!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Purchase I would not purchase this product. The thermostat and floor heating in our renovated bathroom tiled floor was working just wonderfully, when one day the thermostat just died. True Comfort acknowledged there is a rare, but known issue with the circuit board (or something like that - I don't recall specifically from the telephone conversation). The thermostat stopped working after the warranty lapsed, and now I'm on the Home Depot website to purchase another one as there is no choice, is there? Will this one go in 3 years as well?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Customer Service Good: -easy to install -high quality parts Bad: -hard to program -hard to use (much harder than programming the time on your VCR, if you even know what a VCR is...) Awful: -customer service is very bad from manufacturer. Story: I broke the faceplate (my fault) before installation. The manufacturer will not sell me a new faceplate. They will only sell me an entirely new replacement device at full price. If it was a warranty issue, they would have sent me a piece for free.

coverage depth for True Comfort heating cables

What is the thickness of self leveling cement required for these cables? I intend to install the cables over 3/4" plywood, apply self leveling cement, mortar, Detra, then mortar in the tiles.
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello, Normally to cover the heating wires you will need 1/4 of an inch of self levelling cement or thin set. Hope this information will help your throughout your installation process. True Comfort Customer Service

How many heating units can I connect to one thermostat? I'm planning on doing one set inside the shower, one for bathroom floor. Thanks in advance!

Asked by: Anonymous
The thermostat will take up to 15 amps of heating cable, ( 150 sq.ft. in 120volts and 300 sq.ft in 240 volts) charge. If you have 2 cables to connect to the thermostat it will be ok, do not pass the load and it will fine. If you need more information do not hesitate to contact our service Regards,

Does this thermostat allow two floor sensor probes so I can warm two small areas with one thermostat? (The total wattage would only be about 1300W at 120V).

Asked by: Northman
Only one floor sensor can be connected to the thermostat, the thermostat can only manage one temperature reading. To control two areas you would need two thermostats each with their own floor sensor. Please note that the electrical code requires one system and one thermostat per close room. Two heating cables can be connected in parallel to the same thermostat if they combine for less than 1800 watts at 120 volts. - True Comfort customer service team -

Hi, I am looking to buy a 240v floor heating system. I am looking at the True comfort 120/240 thermostat and the 240v 120ft2 to 155ft2 kit. Is this all that I need to install? Other that 1/4" coat of thinset after. The area I am install in in is 6' x 23'

Asked by: Phil84
Good day, Thank you for your interest in our True Comfort in-floor heating system. The cable kit you are looking at will cover 120sqft using a 3" spacing or 155sqft using a 4" spacing of the cables. To be able to suggest the cable system that best fitsyour needs, we will require further information. We will need to know what type of sub-floor is being used (i.e plywood or concrete) and what will the finished flooring be (i.e ceramic tiles or laminate floors or vinyl ...). Also, the amount of thinset or mortar will depend on the type of installation. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or e-mail. Thank you and kind regards 1-877-800-8783 client@truecomfortsystems.com
