Rated 5 out of 5 by from Straight forward install & excellent performance We bought this for our kitchen tile floor. Our sub floor had been installed by our contractor but he (and our tiler) were reluctant to install the underfloor heating. We brought the 240v system on the recommendation of our electrician. The 120v takes more time to heat the floor - the 240v system makes a noticable difference in the room after only 5 minutes. The installation dvd (which comes with the package) is informative and reassuring. You do need to buy a multimetre to measure the resistance (we brought it and returned it after completion) although the megometre (which the box calls for) was not required - our professional electrician doesn't even have a megometre. We (my wife & I) took about 4 hours to complete the installation as per the instructions. We had a little extra wire after we had layed the whole thing which meant we had to un-do the wire and put a couple of lines of 2 inch gap which was an easy solution (and confirmed by the helpline number that it was ok). All in all it's a pretty straight forward system to install. We got our tiler to apply the scratch coat for us. It's an excellent luxury on otherwise cold tile.

what kind of power outlet is needed as this is a reno and would be hard to run a new power supply from electical panel

    Asked by: Anonymous
True comfort offers different lengths of cable in 120 volts and 240 volts. The thermostat will have to be supplied with the voltage required by the selected cable. Always verify with your local electrical code because usually it is required to connect the system to a dedicated heating circuit.
