Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! My kitchen has been transformed by my new Unique retro range and fridge. Both look so cool, and the quality of this range exceeds what I expected. Better looking "in the flesh" than in the photos... and they work great! Highly recommend if you want a cool kitchen that works!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks even better in person Love this range! It is even better looking “in person” than from the photos…stunning color and matched with the Classic Mint Green retro fridge, I’ve got an awesome looking kitchen. Works well also (like the convection oven). Highly recommend, Happy Cook!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Retro Appliances Very happy with my new 24” retro gas range, everything I expected and more. Love the design and features, high BTUs on the cooktop and the convection oven works perfect. Looks great with my matching retro bottom mount fridge. Well done Unique!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking retro range! What an awesome range! Super good looking, and a fraction of the price of some other retro ranges. Works well also. We matched up with the Unique turquoise fridge and wow – now our kitchen pops. Highly recommend this pair.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed (also, a potentially dangerous flaw) We loved the look of this oven and the compact size, but a year and a half on we have not had a great experience. The oven routinely fails to stay lit, and none of the suggestions offered by the manufacturer have helped. We basically have never used the convection fan for fear of blowing out the flame one it finally does catch and hold. The front high-powered burner boils water very quickly, but only reliably ignites when the other elements are lit first. The finish on the back venting ridge develops a strange oxidized film that doesn't seem to scrub off. We're now looking to get rid of this stove, and indeed this experience has finally convinced us to make the transition to induction technology. I only wish it hadn't cost us $1700 and over a year of frustration and disappointment to be pushed in that direction. So, in short: a beautiful piece of retro design, but in this case? you most certainly do not get what you pay for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oven Paint will bubble, crack and peel. Do not buy this product. The paint on the oven can't handle the heat stress and will bubble and peel off. Bare metal is now rusting and we've had it about a year. Absolute disaster purchase. And of course, we purchased the full "matchy matchy" set. Beyond disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money Bought this range about 2 years ago. Has never worked properly and customer service was not helpful at all. Definitely would not recommend this product even though the colour is fabulous

When using the oven, does the confection fan have to run if the power is plugged in or is there a switch to select it off. We’re on batteries, so I want to use as little power as possible. Also, is there an on/off switch for the oven light?

Asked by: bert
On our Classic Retro Ranges, both the convection fan and oven light have a separate on/off switch. What this means is the oven can be used on its own, with the convection fan either on or off, and with the oven light either on or off. If you would like to conserve batteries then you do not have to use either the oven light or convection fan.

Does it come with a propane converson kit ? If not can it be converted?

Asked by: nancy
Yes, our Classic Retro 24" Gas Range is designed as a Natural Gas Range and comes standard with natural gas. However, it can be converted to propane, but should only be done by a licensed plumber or gas tech.

Lot of missing info. Is it propane, natural gas, or both? Assuming it requires electricity for the start and convection fan... is it a standard 110V plugin or oven-style 220V plug? Is the drawer on the bottom an actual storage drawer, or the broiler?

Asked by: Kurt
Our Unique Classic Retro Range comes standard for use with natural gas, both does have the orifices to have it converted by a licensed gas tech/plumber to propane. Yes, your assumption is correct, it is a standard 110V plug-in as the electricity is only required for the Convection Fan, Oven Light, and the ignition system. The drawer is a storage drawer for pots and pans, the broiler is located in the oven.

Is this a propane stove as well?

Asked by: Margot
Our Unique Classic Retro Range is set up for Natural Gas, but will come with the propane orifices. You just need a licensed gas tech/plumber to change to propane.

My old gas stove has a 'D' cell battery to ignite the burners and oven. If the power was on/off, the stove would ignite. No match or lighter required. Does the Unique classic has this same feature? would a person ever have to use a match or lighter?

Asked by: OvShov
In the event of a power outage, the cooktop/oven would need to be manually lit with a match.

How do I know when the oven has reached the desired temperature?

Asked by: Mtlcda
There is no preheat indicator. Depending on the temperature needed and the size of the oven, preheating will take approx. 15 - 20 minutes. Preheat the oven only when a recipe tells you; put roasts and casseroles into a cold oven, then turn on the oven.
