Do you mean that the table top is a slab by your description: “for expansion and shrinkage as the humidity changes

The planks on the table are not glued together in order to allow for for separation due to moisture levels in the environment. This prevents cracking in the planks themselves.

Can this table be stained? Or is it already stained? Is there a store I can see what it looks like... my monitor is not very good with showing true colors.
