Rated 5 out of 5 by from Learned my lesson- its the most reliable Honestly looking back, this was my first of many different epoxy purchases and any problems I had with it were very obviously user error. I should have sticked with it. I’ve made an expensive cyclical journey back to this product. It sets rock hard, is easy to get any residual bubbles out with a mist of isopropyl and then torch over any remainders. Probably the clearest and perfectly leveled epoxy I’ve found yet. I’d give it a go for sure, just be extra extra diligent about instructions if you are new, and for the love of god, please watch YouTube videos and do enough research.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Follow Instructions! I’m not sure about the reviews slamming this product. If you follow the instructions, it turns out like it’s supposed to. It IS slow to cure, but it is easy to use...This is my very first project with epoxy. I mixed the product the minimum time instructed and it turned out like a sheet of glass. Bubbled were easily removed with a heat gun. It was a little too thick to simply pour and allow to self level (skin friction), but once I used a squeegee to push it to the edges, it leveled itself out nicely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from hard to handle bought this recently and be warned mix mix and mix some more But be careful not to induce air as you mix. i bought 3 and even though i mixed it well parts of the table didn't cure. After slowly mixing for 5 min pour the whole mixture in a new container and mix for 2 more min then pour. i learned this the hard way and now i have to redo the table top. if you don't mix well enough you have to gently wash the project with acetone and redo

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks great at first but... I just finished building a new side table for my home office and ended up purchasing this product to finish the table top. Once it cured (for a minimum of 72 hours) it looked great. 'Looked' is the operative word. I put a small desk fan with rubber feet on it and noticed that after a while of running the fan, small dents appeared in the glossy finish. I thought they may have been there before so I moved the fan and a while later, new divots appeared. On a hunch I used my finger nail to see if it would cause a mark... It did. The finish is too soft to be used on a working table. I won't purchase this product any more. It cost over $100 to finish the table. FYI, I build a matching standing desk table top and finished it with a different brand of resin/epoxy and haven't encountered any issues. It is a harder finish.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complete Garbage!!!! I bought this for a top clear coat for an expensive, solid maple project. Followed directions religiously.....it all bubbled and turned yellow. As an experienced wood worker.....i know things happen so i tried again. .. Same thing happened. After hours of sanding this disgusting product .....i hesitantly tried another product.....turned out perfect. Do not buy! Home Depot...pull this bunk garbage !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coverage listed is INCORRECT This product covers 6 sq feet NOT 25 as stated online. Home Depot does not even sell the size of epoxy to cover 25 sq feet. Annoying after driving an hour to pick up

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failure of product to set I followed the instructions exactly and still had product setting issues. The product set properly in some spots and stayed sticky in other spots. I spoke to the manufacturer and was told I must not have mixed it as instructed. I, if fact, spent a great deal of care to follow the instructions. I was not apparently capable of mixing satisfactorily. I have many years of experience in home construction and wood working.

Hi there, can I use this on an outdoor table that I created. The table will be in direct sunlight, possible rain and snow. It will sit outside every Season with the heavens above.

Asked by: Gav79
No as the epoxy will not hold up to the elements

What is the minimum temperature that the room I use it in should be? And is it heat/moisture resistant? I'm going to apply it in my garage. I plan on putting it onto the underside of an MDF shelf less than an inch above my coffee maker.

Asked by: Tangre
I used it at ~15C and it turned out fine. It is waterproof and heat resistant. It's not very viscous right after being mixed, so if you want a layer a couple mm thick, use masking tape to make a vertical perimeter around the board so it doesn't spill off the edges. Mix it thoroughly and slowly and use a heat gun to get rid of bubbles after you pour it.

what is the coverage area for one box?

Asked by: Carey
In my case one box covered 24sqft. Make sure you mix well and switch containers on each part. I made the mistake of mixing in the same container and had soft spots which required me to peel it all off and restart the project.

Can you pour this over a freshly stained table top?

Asked by: Steve
Hi Steve, If surface has been previously finished with solvent-based varnishes or stains, test a small amount (do not mix entire kit contents). Test on a hidden area to ensure compatibility with Varathane Bar & Table Finish.

how does this epoxy sand up after ? does it sand up to a glossy shine ? or can you even sand it after it drys ? thanks

Asked by: Marty
You can sand this product and if you want to bring it to the same shine, you would have to sand it with finer and finer and finer sand paper until you can buff it to a shine again.

can i use this on plywood and epoxy resin table?

Asked by: jason
Yeah I covered a plastic foldable table and a few paintings my daughter did on pieces of plywood. Take caution with the surroundings when your pouring the resin, I did it outside and had flies land on it and get stuck. Also put a tarp underneath as it stains flooring and stone/deck

I'm planning to pour this over a faux white marble peel and stick on my kitchen counter. Will this product yellow with sun exposure? I've heard people who used epoxy on countertops mention that they can yellow over time and it looks terrible.

Asked by: MonicaF
Hi MonicaF, Yes, epoxies like our Bar & Table Finish will yellow over time with sun exposure as the product is not UV stable. We hope this new information is helpful.
