Introducing V-Pump, the 10 1/2 in. innovative and portable venture submersible water pump that is a must have for every shed and tool box. The V-Pump costs only a fraction of a standard electric submersible utility water pump, and can serve as a back up sump pump during power failures. It is perfect for emptying pools, hot tubs, aquariums and ponds, as well as for pumping water out of flooded basements, bailing out boats and for use in on-site construction. Simply attach a standard garden hose to the V-Pump to activate extreme pumping power! The minimum water pressure required 30 psi. Best results at normal house water pressure 60-80 psi. Discharge (drain) hose can be purchased at your local Home Depot or homedepot.ca. Assembled measurements: 10.5 in. height, 1.53 in. depth, 4.15 in. width, 0.25 lb.

The water from house into your hose connected to the water pump uses the pressure from your hose to push out the water, myself water from pool. Works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great solution to pumping needs. Very satisfied. Great product. Does exactly as it describes. I've used this for more easily emptying a kiddie pool. Empties a relatively full pool in <20 min. Doesn't come with discharge hose, which you'll need if you want to drain the water further away or in a more controlled manner than just shooting a stream of water. I cannot comprehend any of the negative reviews saying it doesn't work and they ended up with more water in than out - I just assume that they either had very water pressure from their hose faucet (which is drives the physics process) or were trying to pump the water to a significant height (I found that it could move the water up to about 4-5 ft in vertical height, which is sufficient to get the water up and over a barrier to discharge at some further distance).

I'm working with chemicals and wondering if this would work or if it would corrode. What is the housing material? Also do you know the maximum flow rate? Can you use compressed air as the input and suck AIR instead of water? Thanks so much

Hi Katy, the item is made of ABS. It is a venturi process so it would need liquid in to pump out.

Yes, the input water runs out through the discharge output. It is the input water flow/pressure that generates the venturi effect which drags the liquid to drain out through the discharge output.

I think you'd be better off with a pump as this uses water to empty an area. If you used it to recirculate the water it would just add more water to it.

What size of garden hose connections and what size of drain pipe should we purchase for this products?

Your regular garden hose your have at home for the input connection will work. For the output, 1.5in or 1.25in hose, tightly secured with a clamp will be needed. A pool vaccum hose work great too!
