Used this for a customer , Home depot associate ensured me this was the product to use , 6 months after install it all sagged and caps wrapped almost inside out from sunlight. Called manufacture after the store wouldnt help, was told I needed support posts. Lol, i get it but support post u der a 27" span? Sagged 2" ? 1.5 years later and i didnt get anywhere with store or manufacture... replacing at my cost tomorrow..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks good and very easy to install. Looks good. Follow the instructions and it will be fine. The kits come warped out of the box but come with a support for the center of the bottom rail. I would not recommend this kit if you were doing an actual 6 foot rail. It’s likely to warp unless there are 2 bottom rail supports. If you were to cut it for small sections like myself you need to buy end rail attachments separately that are not sold in stores. They are online order only and Took a long time to deliver.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very waste centric cheaply made sold very expensiv Very waste centric cheaply made sold very expensive. Every stair rail kit I opened was warped out of the box. The top rail connector had to be trimmed to work properly. The Balusters don’t lineup at the top and overhang the adopters that insert them. This is a huge oversight that should’ve been corrected from the manufacturing end.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality control could use improvement Bottom rail came bowed right out of the box which added to difficulty when installing bottom rail level above a concrete porch, it meant flexing it level to determine mounting location while ensuring support blocks did their job. Top rail eventually snapped down into place but It required the use of 3 ratchet straps as an aid due to bottom rail being sprung upwards. Once all connected it stayed level and tight. One of the balusters came out of the box 3/16” short which I didn’t notice until the end so I had to take it apart and swap out.

I'm hoping I can have good service with homedepot once I show them this.. I wanna rip it all out and restart with something else...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well constructed I bought and installed this a few weeks ago. I also purchased the steel post and composite sleeve, to cover two spans 8 feet apart. The finished product is very solid, looks and feels like wood, and will never rot.

Can these connect directly to brick. And if so, what size of masonry screw is required?

You should not connect anything directly to brick which requires lateral support. You will damage your brick and not provide intended protection.   Special hardware required to anchor to structure behind brick

This product is advertised on Home Depot and on the packaging as a 6-foot railing kit. In fact the railing is 68.5" long. Can you explain this?

This answer is not at all satisfying. It may say on your packaging that the length is 68.5" however online there is no indication of this and the title clearly does not mention the installation requirements. I took the title description as being a 6' (72") railing kit. The fact that this is not the case should be itemized online in the specifications and in the title. Once again, the specifications state clearly that both the packaging and the product are 79.13" long...you should understand that this is confusing and in my case it was a waste of my time and my materials and you should correct it.

I have to mount my 4x4 posts before installing deck boards. Hownfar apart should my 4x4s be? 68.5" or give it 69" for a bit of wiggle room? using the veranda post sleeves as well if that matters
