Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost perfect. Overall I like this kit. The price is good for what you get. The problem I have with it is the screws. The screws are chrome (which stand out like a soar thumb against the back brackets) and are very cheap. You can only install them once. That seams like no problem unless you have to move the rail up or down a little bit. The screw holes round out and they become useless. If I had to do it again, I would just buy a box of black screws and toss all of these in the garbage. The problem with the whole kit is you cannot buy the parts separately. Since the kit does not come in a stair version, your stairs do not match the main deck. The clips and the top and bottom rails do not match the stairs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great look, it’s a strong 3.5 I would have given it a 3.5 if I could. As noted in other reviews the screws are easier to strip than normal, however if you are careful there will me minimal issues. All our kits did have extra screws just in case you made a mistake. Some of the kits were missing the plastic connectors, had to exchange them. Some of the wood was a little warped but if you notice beforehand you can correct it during assembly, some were easier than others to correct. Assembly was easy as long as you are patient and the final result we obtained was very pleasing. I would definitely purchase again and apart for small issues and some missing pieces, happy with the end result.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty nice, poor manufacturer customer service Purchased five sections to replace old rails. For the most part, we like the rail system. It looks good and was easy to install. However the quality is a bit suspect (see picture of top rail), and the after-sale customer service terrible/non-existent. The phone number on the packaging is a customer service department located in the USA that does not serve Canadians. The American rep gave me a number to another USA department that does not serve Canadians. The second rep did however provide a Canadian number located in Montreal. The Montreal rep sounded like she was uninterested and did not call me back to follow up on my question I asked her. Other than that, the rail system is quite nice looking. I am wondering how the wood will hold up after a few seasons and winters.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Find something else Loose fitting brackets, the supplied screws are made of the cheapest metal ( kept stripping the head ) ended up buying construction grade screws. 3 of 8 kits bought had to be exchanged because of serious flaws in the rails. Aluminum balusters were nice. Don"t waste your money on this product

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Deck railing Bought this to install around my deck and the pool area but after a month they warp and twist they look good but constantly changing the warped pieces, screws break when being installed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deck Rails Railing looks awesome. Home Depot customer service deserves negative stars. Definitely would buy the rails again but not from this store.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Railing Kit I purchased a bunch of these kits and was happy with the easy install, and quality of the product until I opened the last box, one rail was severely split, must have been close to quitting time on a Friday because honestly that's a scrap piece of wood. I installed it, but will definitely be changing it out. I really should have returned it but I had already cut the other rail. I will also lay out all the parts before beginning next time, live and learn I guess.

Are you able to cut these railings on an angle for non- rectangular decks? My deck has a hexagon on the end with different angles that would need to be cut. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Asked by: Fetchy
You can cut them on an angle if you want, you just won't be able to use the end brackets afterwards and will need to drill/ screw in at an angle. You will lose the look of the bracket but if that doesn't matter then you could....

Can you cut the to length with these kits?

Asked by: Theo
Very disappoint  I can send a pic two weeks installed and all warped. Was going to go where I purchased them at Home Depot in north bay store  to show pictures. To see if I can return and get new ones or my money back. Very disappointed.

My deck has 45 degree corners, are there any brackets for angles?

Asked by: Bob33
No there are not. You might be able to use the same brackets and trim the inside corners to fit them in but I never tried before. Good luck PS the screws are very cheep, do NOT expect to be able to pull them out and reuse them more than once if you are lucky

Why don't you mention this kit is not tall enough for a legal railing?

Asked by: Builder69
Please kindly check with your local building codes. The PIP does say the assembled height is 37”.

Can this be fixed on cement platform (the porch) or is it useful just on the wooden platform?

Asked by: Steve007
The kit does not include the post... and yes, it can be used on a cement platform just use a brace to attach the post to the cement platform.
