Rated 2 out of 5 by from works only for ~45 degree stairs (+/-) The site product details and the box fail to state the angle of the adapters in the kit. As determined after purchase, they are ONLY for 45 degree stairs (~equal rise over run), but this is not standard for stairs. Typically stairs might be closer to 32 degrees but will vary per your building code. They CAN work +/- for other rise over run, but the further away from 45 degrees you go, the worse aesthetically the adapter connectors with the rods will look, and if too far off they risk not connecting properly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I wish I read the reviews before purchasing this product. It seems that after 4 years veranda haven't fixed the issue in regards to the previous comments before me. Problems listed below. 1. Baulster angle end cap is fixed at a 45 degree angle. (Most stairs have a wide variety of rise and run). 2. If using the veranda rail kit (Not the stair kit) the length of the Baulster are considerably different, meaning that the top of the stair rail will not be at the same hight as the existing rails.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No Options This item allows very little wiggle room to customize a railing on stairs. The angles of the connectors were good, but what if you wanted to match top and bottom deck rails to the stairs (a normal build)? You can't. These are short balusters, and if you want to use the long ones, you need to buy extra parts, which Veranda (or Home Depot) do not sell. You can't buy the angled connectors in any Home Depot in Edmonton, AB. This means you need to buy many more of these kits and throw all the extra parts out (short balusters). This makes the angled connectors extremely expensive. Not a bad product, quality wise, but their foresight fell short. No problems with the straight rail kits. The stair kits require a strategy meeting in the Veranda boardroom.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice idea but...... Used this product in conjunction with Veranda regular rail kit. Regular rail kit provided all parts as mentioned. Trouble is, the stair rail kit provided many of the same parts. The hole plug rail connectors assume a 45 degree angle. Therefore bottom and top rails must be at 45 degree angles. However the 'toenailing' connectors are for 90 degree (standard with the regular rail kit) and don't recognize that the face of a 45 degree angle is longer than a 90. Add to this the 2.5 inch screws included could have you screwing the end caps right through pre-drilled holes or even through the pre-drilled 2x4. So I had to position by end caps to screws got into wood not the pre-drilled holes (or use my own supply of shorter wood screws), which leaves gaps I can guess I will have to deal with. The regular rail kit came with additional instructions inside the box, the stair rail kit did not. All this to say while the regular kit was well designed, the stair rail kit is less so.

Some asked if could use at 30 degree angle. Was answered yes but not told what to do to make the kit work for stairs. So how do you use this kit at a 30 degree angle railing

    Asked by: Anne
The kit  angle connection is not has tight has people think. I mounted multiple kit on different angle staires and they always fit and still hold strong. I dont see any issue with a 30 deg angle.

Hi for anyone who used this or the manufacturer. I purchased these for 3-step stairs, mine are 30.5 degrees. But the kit includes 45 degree angled parts. Is there any way to make this work? What is the alternative?

    Asked by: MattC
Hello MattC, the kit will be able to accommodate the angles outside of the 45 degree. Thank-you and have a great day!
