Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unexpected weeds. I plant organic seeds so wanted organic soil. I was happy that it was available. I have to say, though, that this soil was loaded with weed seeds that started to grow with watering my plants. The weeds grew by the hundreds and the soil was absolutely covered by them. I was surprised as I bought the same soil last year and that did not happen. One of the advantages of having a raised bed is that you don't normally get a lot of weeds. Unfortunately they came with the soil.

When I opened the bag and put the soil onto my beds I noticed plastic garbage throughout the soil. The bag was previously unopened so there is no way it could have come from another source. As I sifted through the soil I found more and more plastic. This is a vegetable garden mix. I do not want to be consuming plastic with my vegetables.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from always contains random pieces of plastic bags i have a poor memory, so i always buy multiple bags of this soil in the spring the last 3 years. they always get me with the "ecocert" certified organic label, even though i have no idea what it means. at least half of the bags have had 1-3 random pieces of soft plastic. they are small (about 1 inch square) and range in colour from clear blue, white, black. i've purchased from two different home depots during this time and noticed it from both stores. definitely don't think the plastic would be ecocert certified but again, i don't even know what that means. good luck i hope this helps you because lord knows i won't remember this next year when i'm picking up my next load of soil.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mushrooms?!! We used this soil to plant veggies...INDOORS! So this soil was not exposed to the outside. We found plastic pieces in it. It's just plain garbage. I guess is all natural "organic" garbage. Vigoro has never been good to us. We only bought this because the usual garden center we go to was closed for the season.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It came with mushrooms...eeew The dirt was a little mouldy. I didnt think too much about it, thinking it was just a musty smell. But within 2 days lots of mushrooms grew. I had to throw everything out. 4 bags of it since HD wont do returns right now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of time and money My bag was mostly sticks. None of it was salvagable and I bought two bags. I had to buy another bag from another brand and toss all of this. Save yourself some time and stick with more reputable brands. It's a bit more money but it will definitely be more expensive when you have to start over.
