Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice looking unit. Hired a contractor to install. I like the way it works, seems to capture the steam and also most (if not all) of any odours from a roast (which would linger for hours before the install of this fan). I don't have experience with other units as I have not had one for years. But overall, it seems to do the job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for our needs. This range hood has been the perfect solution for our range venting needs. Installation was straightforward and simple, but you will need two people to install it. It's just too awkward for one person. You'll need your own screws for mounting as the supplied screws are too small. Although the box says 7" round or 3-1/4" x 10" rectangular, I couldn't find 7" ducting. I used the rectangular adapter on top of the unit and ran it straight up into the attic, then an adapter from rectangular to 6" round, and ran the round duct horizontally to exit through the end gable. (Don't forget to insulate the ducting in the attic to help prevent condensation) This unit provides a lot of options for venting, but note that it MUST vent to the outside. Aside from the couple of simple little issues I mentioned here, everything installed easily and performs well. The dual fans move a lot of air, but the trade-off is, of course, the sound volume. It's loud on high speed! In the 8 months we have had ours, I rarely need anything above the 1st or 2nd of the 6 speed settings. It looks sleek, and performs well. The only operational issue, as a previous reviewer noted, is that the lights flicker on the low setting. I personally am not bothered by this as I always use them on the high setting anyway. This is however my reason for rating it 4 stars rather than 5 The filters are easy to remove and are dishwasher safe. Overall, I'm really satisfied with this purchase and performance is everything I hoped it would be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only 1 complaint At the low light setting, both lights flicker (and not due to vibration from the fan). It's almost like the LED's are not intended for dimming. Disappointed with this lighting problem, but otherwise, this range hood met our expectations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Features I bought this a month ago and I'm so glad I did. It's powerful, has many levels of speed and looks amazing over my stove. It has 2 easy to clean grates/filters. Only down side, I wish it had brighter lights.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well built and engineered I'll start this review with the caveat that I purchased this range hood along with another model (Nutone Mantra AVDN130SS) which I ultimately kept instead of the Vissani. I brought both home and gave each a thorough exam including hooking up to a power source before choosing to keep the Nutone and returning the Vissani. Here are the pros and cons for each model. Vissani: Pros: Well built and engineered, it is one sturdy machine and is more powerful than the Nutone (460 to 400 cfm). The fan has SIX speeds. It has beautifully engineered soft touch controls. The lines are very industrial and would go well with similar stoves. Cons: It weighs over 50 lbs!, the Nutone weighs 27.5lbs Although it has six fan speeds, I found it louder by far than the Nutone in all but the lowest speed. At speed 6 and Nutone fan speed 3 (which is the highest for both), the Vissani is noticeably louder. Dimension wise the Vissani is 2" higher and extends out over and 1" more. Although I did not attempt to install the Vissani, it appears to be less complicated than the Nutone which involved removing the grills, about a dozen screws and 2 panels covering the electrical and mounting holes. I also did not examine the hardware included with the Vissani but the hardware included with the Nutone was insufficient to do a proper install and I had to improvise with sturdier screws and nuts instead of the tiny wood screws provided. I also had to use the mounting holes at the extreme edges of the hood in order to keep the corners from sagging which has not happened with previous range hood installs. In the end I chose the Nutone over the Vissani for 3 main reasons: weight, sleeker more curvy lines and quieter fan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Generally a good product. Once installed this unit worked well. However: The installation kit comes with four rather undersized wood screws to secure the fan to the underside of the cabinet. And the fan is heavy. I used machine bolts with large washers at either end of the bolt for support, and a split washer at the nut end to ensure that the unit was securely atteched to the cabinet. The fan can vent in various ways (top, back, wall etc) but the covers that you place over the unused vent exits don't form a secure seal. I taped around all of the vent exits using aluminum tape - to ensure that the vented air doesn't leak out but is all directed to the outside. And one last thing. The fan description says that the unit generates 2.6 sones of noise at "normal" speed but does not say which of the 6 available speeds is considered "normal". At the higher speeds the fan makes quite a noise, but I'm not sure how it would compare to the sound generated by competitive units. The fan looks great and works well once it is securely installed. It's a good product at a mid-range price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product awful installation. Once I got this installed, it looks and performs great. However this is the worst installation ever. The product is designed to be hung from 4 tiny screws and the manufacturer didn't provide a drilling template. After numerous unsuccessful tries I bought some self tapping metal screws and screwed into the top of the unit from the shelf above.

Will this hood move 460 cfm of air with a 4 inch duct?

    Asked by: Mike
No. You need a minimum 6" round or 3-1/4" x 10" rectangular duct.

Just can't find instructions how to set up a clock on this hood. What is the sequence for that? Thank you.

    Asked by: pzmaria
On mine I have to press and hold both the power button and the + button simultaneously until the time starts flashing. Release the buttons and use the + or - buttons to set the hours. Press the power button once, and adjust the minutes using the + or - buttons, then press the power button one last time to save your settings and exit the setup.

Does somebody have a manual for this product? I cannot seem to find one online. My LCD panel has an icon turned on and I don't know what it means. It resembles a tray with water then sort of filter going into it. Does it mean clean the filter?

    Asked by: Henry29
Yes, this indicates the filters need cleaning. After cleaning them, press and hold the power button for approximately 5 seconds and it will reset.

I see the noise level is 2.5 sones at normal speed. What is considered "normal speed"?

    Asked by: Jana
The normal speed is the first speed of the hood, considered as the work speed.

It doesn't have front vents, so unless you leave space above and/or behind the unit, no.
