The Water Worker 4 Gal. Pressurized Well Tank offers a direct-fit replacement for the majority of installed in-line well tanks. Meets NSF Standard 61 requirements for clean, safe drinking water.Polypropylene liner separates water from the steel shell to prevent taste or odour from being absorbed into the water, formed liner fits the steel shell for added durability. Thick diaphragm keeps water separate from pre-charged air and helps to reduce air loss. Molded diaphragm offers an ideal fit, sits on top of the water and will not fold, crease or drag against the steel shell. Water connection is malleable iron with a stainless steel waterway.

In the description, it mentions 4.4 gal volume equivalent of 12 gal. What does this mean?

Asked by: Gus
The tank size is 4.4 gallons. The drawdown, the amount of water the tank will hold, is equivalent to older tanks that are 12 gallons in size. Same drawdown in a tank that’s approximately 1/3 of the size of tanks that have been used previously. Most of those 12 gallon tanks are no longer being used but there are certain pockets in the country that use those old style tanks.

Can the air pressure in bladder side be adjusted up or down?

Can the air pressure in bladder side be adjusted up or down?
Asked by: DonC
Yes, you can bleed the pressure down or add pressure provided that have access to an air compressor and a reliable pressure gauge. There probably are some guidelines in the product instructions. I haven’t had the need to make any adjustments on mine.

Can this tank be used inside the home to offset expansion from domstic hot water heater?

Asked by: John
I suppose it would work but there probably are less expensive options. Also to consider is the effect of the temperature of the heated water on the bladder material on the tank. You can make a “dead air” expansion chamber out of CPVC that acts as a shock dampener in the hot water line. You should be able to find information about that option on line. It’s simply a vertical tee in the line with a capped riser containing air that absorbs the shock of the “water hammer “ effect that occurs when you shut off a downstream valve quickly.
