Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice pressure tank I needed a compact water pressure tank for my fifth wheel trailer and this tank fit the bill. It was what I expected and installed easily. Now my water pump cycles less and my water pressure is more steady. It took over a week to get to California from the east coast, so order early! I hope it lasts a long time, we will see.

can this tank be used with a 12v pump system in a yurt home I am biulding
Asked by: tom
The voltage of the pump has no effect on the tank. As long as the pump is capable of producing the adequate pressures, the tank will work as designed.

Yes, if this is for a sprinkler system a larger one may be more advisable for a home.

Will this work in conjunction with a cycle stop valve?

Will this work in conjunction with a cycle stop valve?
Asked by: ZJDiy
Cycle stop valves are junk. They greatly increase the energy your pump will use and will actually increase the amount of cycles because the pump will turn on every time you wash your hands or flush the toilet. Stick with big pressure tanks, much better.

Can this tank be used in a Reverse Osmosis System?

Asked by: Buck
No. This tank is not manufactured for use in Reverse Osmosis Systems. The aggressiveness of the RO water will damage the internal diaphragm and the system connection. This tank is specifically designed for well water systems.

GRAVITY FEED TANK

I HAVE A GRAVITY FEED TANK THAT SITS ON THE SECOND FLOOR AND the water flows down to a spigot and a couple sinks. where would i be able to hook this device up and how? wATER PUMPs via the well house pump (electric) upstairs to a 50 gal. tank and then back down to the sinks and spigots with low pressure. can i use both?
Asked by: cody
Assumption - your 50g tank is a holding tank you've elevated for at least a little pressure at your fixtures. To get some real pressure to your sinks & spigot you could add a pressure tank and a transfer pump from your holding tank. It would look something like this: well pumps to your 50g holding tank -> transfer pump & pressure switch -> check valve -> pressure tank w/tee, pressure gauge & pressure relief valve -> supply to the sinks & spigot. The transfer pump would fill the pressure tank as the gravity feed from your holding tank will not successfully fill your pressure tank. When you call for water at a fixture the water will be provided at the pressure you set your pressure tank to (i.e. 40 psi). As the water is used from the pressure tank and the pressure tank empties the pressure in the tank will drop. The pressure switch on your transfer pump will read this drop and start the transfer pump up to move water from your holding tank to the pressure tank (and also continue to provide water at the fixture you are using at pressure until you turn the water off there). After the demand for water at your fixture is stopped the pump will continue to run until the pressure tank fills to the "cut out" pressure on your pressure switch (i.e. 50psi on a 30/50 pressure switch) at which point the pump turns off until the next time it needs to refill the pressure tank. Now if you pumped from your well directly to a pressure tank, you could place the pressure tank wherever you wanted (upstairs or downstairs) and you wouldn't need a transfer pump, nor the holding tank. Get a big pressure tank (the actual water capacity not the "equivalent" so that your well pump runs for awhile when it is called and doesn't short cycle) not the 4g one your question was attached to.

Can the air pressure in bladder side be adjusted up or down?

Can the air pressure in bladder side be adjusted up or down?
Asked by: DonC
Yes, you can bleed the pressure down or add pressure provided that have access to an air compressor and a reliable pressure gauge. There probably are some guidelines in the product instructions. I haven’t had the need to make any adjustments on mine.
