Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Suitable for Drain Doesn't say it anywhere on the package and Home Depot staff were not aware... for use in metal or full water pipes ONLY. Open up the instructions and on the last page... "Never install heating cable on plastic pipe unless pipe is filled with water at all times." Posted to prevent others from wasting time on this.

12 watts and .10 amps @120 vac is confusing. You should write clearly 0.1A or 0.1 amps. The point in ".10 amps" looks like a typo

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It will be corrected.

can this product be used on plastic roof vent pipe

    Asked by: Anonymous
The Electric Pipe Heating Cable is engineered for use on metal and rigid plastic pipes. It has been designed for the sole purpose of preventing metal and rigid plastic water filled lines from freezing. Do not use this product on fuel lines, drain lines, hoses, buried pipes, flexible pipe or rigid pipe that is not properly supported. Cable should only be installed in sheltered, accessible locations such as under a skirted mobile home, a crawl space, a basement, an attic or a domestic garage. It should not pass through a wall, floor or roof of a building or be enclosed in joist or stud spaces.
