Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This pump was easy to install and is built well. Only small downside is you’ll see a small increase in your gas/electric bill as your heater runs more often to keep the hot water lines hot in your home.

Why cant this be fitted to a tankless system? If you adapt the fittings to the proper thread, then it can be used no? People are using these already.

    Asked by: Andrew
This pump is not designed for tankless systems. It is designed to pump all the time (when the timer is set to be on) and that would cause the tankless system to run continually. That would defeat the purpose of a tankless system which is "on demand".

My upstairs shower goes cold when I turn on hot water downstairs, will this recirculating pump help this issue if I install the valve in the upstairs bathroom?

    Asked by: Doug27
No. It will not fix that. The open tap downstairs causes lower pressure to get to the upstairs shower. A good water saver shower head should help or fix this as it is not as sensitive to pressure changes.

I am on a well with a water softener setup. Can this Watts instant hot water recirculating system be installed? Will it cause damage to the softener? What are the pros/cons? Thanks

    Asked by: GDBlack
There is not a conflict with having a recirculation pump and a water softener.

Does the timer take multiple inputs, for example morning, noon and evening?  Is there a manual setting should you need hot water outside of scheduled times?

    Asked by: Nigel
The timer works much like a simple timer for Christmas lights. You press the tabs in for the period you want it on and pull out the tabs when you want to stop it. I have noticed a drastic decrease in water usage since I have installed it

How does this pump help reduce/eliminate the cold water that is deadheaded in the hot water pipes upstream of the tap, which gets wasted when one allows it to flow while waiting for hot water?

    Asked by: Nigel
The pump adds up to 2 PSI to the hot water line. This allows water to pass from the hot water to the cold water through the sensor valve. When the temperature of the water passing through the valve reaches 95° the sensor valve closes. The pump then idles. It reopens when the water temperature drops to 85°. By installing the senor valve at the faucet furthest from the water heater it insures all the faucet that connect to the same pipe the feeds the faucet with the sensor valve get hot water in an instant. When the valve is open and the pump is running the pressure on the cold water side is greater then the pressure coming into the house. This allows the water in your cold water pipe to replace the hot water in leaving the tank. No addition water needs to be drawn from the outside source.
