Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality build This unit is much better than others I've purchased before. This has metal thread inserts and not plastic only. It gives a very strong and secure connection. Only downside is that it doesn't come with a mounting bracket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very affordable, compact whole house filter. Bought this since our piping is two years older than we are - and we've seen an increase in water sediment lately. The filter is pretty great. Easy to install, (Sharkbite connectors FTW - not included tho) the water flow is visible, the additional spare filters are nice, the size was great for our needs, and the price was very, very reasonable. Other whole house filters start at a couple hundred $$$ and only go up from there, which is a huge waste of money when this does the exact same job for around $50. Passive water filtration is a simple process and no gimmicks are going to improve on it. We installed the filter directly on the house supply line so it does literally filter ALL our water, which extends the lifespan of ice makers, tankless water heaters, dishwashers, and takes a noticeable chunk out of the amount of showerhead scale/residue cleanup you have to do. We've noticed an improvement in the taste quality of our water, too, which was an unexpected- but pleasant - surprise. The only downsides to this filter are: 1. You basically have to make your own rack for it, if you are installing it on PEX pipe or very old copper pipe, it definitely needs support, when it's full it's fairly heavy. I bought two small bike hooks, screwed them into the wall, and rested the incoming/outgoing flex hoses on them, and that worked perfectly. 2. The other downside is the inlets/outlets seem to be cut ever so slightly larger than standard, and you need to use a LOT of teflon tape or you'll see some leaking around where you've screwed the hose connections in. Aside from those two minor inconveniences, I would have rated it 5 stars. I still totally recommend this filter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Filter but improvements possible I chose this filter as it had Metal thread inserts unlike many other makes. It was easy to install but an included mounting bracket would be a great addition. I wish this housing had a finer filter option. I am using for a fridge filter so had to buy a 5 micron filter and now have 3 spare 50 micron filters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works great it works as well as the more expensive filter, which I have too, but needs so sort of mounting bracket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Works good for sediment. Was very easy to install. One thing don’t forget to get small amount of pipe dope and Teflon as the fittings did not seal to well without it. But great product for the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product I've used it for a month now. Works well, easy to install. But why send it with two 50 micron filters? For drinking water you always want at least a 5 micron filter!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from white cannister, not clear unit advertised is not the unit supplied, it is still a watts product and has all the same specs, but supplier no longer sends units with a clear canister, comes with a white canister, discussed with supplier when i received second unit in white, thinking it was a mistake

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No more chlorine taste! You’ll need to purchase drinking water filters separately but otherwise it’s a great unit at an awesome price. We also had to purchase a mount separately as it does not include one.

I was thinking of having two units installed in line after the pressure tank . Do you recommend such installation ? Will it reduce the flow ? What would be the recommended distance between the two ?

Asked by: YGMCH
I have mine installed before the pressure tank, right after the water meter. Installing 2 would probably reduce the flow but it will not be noticeable. You will have to replace the filter right on the suggested time (6 months) not longer.

where is the mounting bracket

web says a bracket is included but none in the kit. is there an error?
Asked by: Anonymous
Bracket for the water filter? Is this what your asking...there isn't one included if that's what your asking. You can buy a couple black water line hangers for a couple bucks and screw those on the wall and they work perfect.

Is it possible to install a 1 micro filter inside? Also, would that limit the flow at 10 gpm? Thanks.

Asked by: Bob mayer
I would NOT put a 1 Micron in a whole house unit, there would be a great pressure loss.

I am looking to install a sediment filter on our water system.  I am pulling our water from the lake.  The foot valve sits about 3 ft off the lake bottom in shallow water.  What single stage filter and cartridge (microns?) should I use?

Asked by: Jimbo
Hello, We would not recommend a single cartridge for lake water. We would recommend multiple with graduated micron sizes. All models below are Watts Pure Water. Option 1 for single cartridge, use a 50 micron, model PWMB20FFM50. Option 2 for better results, (1) filter PWMB20FFM50 followed by a second filter model PWMB20FFM5. Option 3 for best results, (1) model PWMB20FFM50, (1) PWMB20FFM20, and (1) PWMB20FFM5. Plumbed in series, largest micron first, followed by increasingly smaller micron filters. First filter inline will do the bulk of the filtration and will need to be changed more frequently. All filters above utilize housing model PWHIB20FF.
