This Halifax privacy lever is best used in interior bed and bath applications where privacy is required. Levers are locked or unlocked by push button inside. The outside lever can be unlocked by an emergency key. The Matte Black finish provides a rich and warm complement to the product's style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Modern & Highly Functional Replaced every handset in our house with the Weiser Halifax series, and we love the result. It's a modern look without being too trendy. Lever handsets are so much easier than knobs, too. We were super happy to get the exterior and interior handsets all in one style. The installation is fairly straightforward. We had to give most of them an adjustment tightening after a few weeks but that is to be expected, and it took less than 10 minutes to do for the whole house. There is no left or right to these handles, so the privacy handsets will have the push-knob either above the handle or below it depending on the door set-up. If you're really OCD about this kind of thing, you might care. I don't. The push button to lock is a bit stiff at the outset but I expect it will loosen up over time. Recommend!

They look the part but if i tighten the handle so they aren't loose, the handle is very stiff and won't spring back into the open position. If i loosen them they spring back but are not tight to the door and move whenever i use them. I've also had trouble with the latch not lining up on several of the doors.

Does the faceplate and latch assembly come with the handles

Yes, the faceplate and latch come with the handles. If you are replacing an existing doorknob, you'll likely be fine just swapping it out. With any new doorknob assembly, you may need to shave out some wood off so the new plate cover and latch assembly fit nice.

Can the square rosette be installed on a door that has a round hole ?

Yes, the square part that you see is just a cover, while the mechanism on the inside is shaped like a conventional door knob. It will fit your existing, standard door holes

I have a Weiser bathroom privacy door handle and one of the kids has locked it. We can't get it to unlock now and need some advice. Is there a special key we are supposed to use in the small, circular hole on the handle?

No, there is no need for a particular key. Anything smaller than the hole will do it as long as it is strong. An old metal hanger that you can bend should do the trick!

There is a small hole on the exterior handle plate below the handle, insert a metal rod into hole and push, that should release the lock
