Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't bother Replaced the standard dead bolt on my front door with this. Wish I hadn't. We never use the smart features on this lock because they are completely unreliable. Have come home to an unlocked front door on multiple occasions. Batteries need to be replaced often and long before the end of their life because this lock will refuse to work with anything but fully charged batteries. The touch screen activates with some responsiveness, but forget it if the batteries are not new. I carry the key to lock and unlock the dead bolt now. Waste of money. Wish I had gone with the basic electronic key pad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to use and install Disclaimer: I received free product as part of a review seeding program. I just installed this over the weekend and it was very simple. I was replacing another Weiser lock so the fit was very easy. Setup for the user codes and connecting to the WIFI and the Weiser app was a breeze as well. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S9 on a Virgin Mobile WIFI network. Seems to be working. Have been able to lock and unlock remotely so far. Had to let a neighbour in yesterday and I was able to set up a temporary lock code for him that worked. So far, I'm happy with the lock and the functionality. Will update if I run into any issues as I use it more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute garbage for rental properties! Don't buy! I bought three of them during black Friday of 2020 since they were on special. I only installed them on my Triplex in September of 2021. They were beyond frustrating to setup, since the software wasn't up to date and the update took about 3 tries and 2 hours of my time for each. Now, 1 of them drains the batteries within 20 days and had to be removed. The other 2 have since died on me. Home Depot can't refund since it's past the 9 months period from the original purchase date, which is fair. But I can't get a hold of anyone from Weiser. Tried 4 times and no success. I would of been fine to exchange them for lower-cost model and eat the cost, but looks like that's not even an option. As a landlord and contractor, I will never use this product ever again and strongly suggest you don't waste your time on this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Could've been a contender. We are about 6 months in with this lock. As a fairly high end product (based on price) it should be a reliable, efficient and secure product. Unfortunately, the battery life on it makes it unreliable and very inefficient. It goes through 4AA batteries every 3 weeks or so. We've had two separate occasions where the batteries have died suddenly (no phone notification) and we had to go through the back door to get into the house. The keypad itself is good, app is fine - not great, but it works. Also no HomeKit. For the price, wish it was better - but just the other day, wife insisted we get something new...

Takes 4 AA size batteries which drain out very easily. 9V battery would have been a better choice. Bluetooth pairing never worked for me. Had a chat with Weiser support as the lock started behaving weird. It wouldn't stop running, as if it's trying to close the latch,but it wouldn't close. It kept on running. Weiser support told me I need Duracell or Energizer batteries for this lock to operate correctly. Only those two brands are recommended by Weiser. We'll, this was never mentioned any where in the description for the buyers to read this info before making a purchase. And, the Irony is when this lock was purchased it didn't not come with the batteries from those two recommended brands

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Zero Battery Life Bought this in the summer of 2020 and have had nothing but problems with it. Have the Weiser Powerbolt 2.0 on the other 2 doors and love them! This Halo doesn't always register finger touch, the battery dies between 2-3 weeks, the deadbolt doesn't always extend to lock the door. So frustrated. Wish we would have just stuck with the Powerbolt and not gone with something because it looked fancier.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Short Battery Life, Non-Existent Support The battery life seems to have dropped to an unusable level. A fresh set of Energizer Max alkalines die in a couple of weeks with no lock activations. Wifi router tells me he connection qualiy is "Great". I asked under the "questions" tab for strategies to fix this and they repeated the standard response included in other locations on this page. It would seem that the battery life on these units is not as advertised and there are some significant flaws that aren't being disclosed. Too bad, it looks nice and has a lot of promise, but I would not recommend anyone purchase a Weiser product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible battery life - would not recommend-avoid. It is a nice lock when the battery isn't dead. I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing the review. Their generic response about wiring, door alignment, router...etc is useless and they don't seem to read the content of people's reviews. Batteries maybe last a bit over a month and that is without even using the automated lock process...99% of the time I use my key and manually lock it from inside, I am 15 ft from a very strong router source that has 1+ GB wireless speed. So don't understand why the lock wastes so much power. (Model HALO-01:0) Support please don't respond with your generic reply about battery life depends on installation, wiring, router...it is not the source of the issue, the lock is the source of the issue.

How do you change the batteries?

Grip the lock on the inside portion from the back and slide the portion up. The shinier part comes off and reveals the battery pack. The battery pack has a little notch to pull it out.

What is the operating temperature range of the lock? This includes full operation of the keypad specifically in very cold temperatures, will this lock work when it's (minus) -40°C (Celsius)?

Honestly? I won’t know. I haven’t experience temperatures that cold. The lowest I have experienced are temperatures between -25 to -30 and the lock never had issues. But if would recommend to have the key with you just in case.

Why is the connection poor when using a compatible phone and router? Why do batteries not last 2 months (with good door alignment and 1” deep door jam hole) when they should last 6? Why are your suggested ways to illuminate the touch screen unreliable?

I have other Weiser locks that have SmartKey tech. This uses the same tech so can I assume that the keys will fit in eachothers locks?

Yes, the SmartKey cylinder can be keyed at the consumer level with the SmartKey Learn Tool and by following the SmartKey Re-Key instructions. SmartKey Security re-key technology is compatible with a 5 pin (K1 and K5) and 6 pin (K10) keyways.

Hi,I have purchased this lock Halo Wifi Touchscreen, lock is good, Bluetooth and manul lock is working fine, but when I tried to lock and unlck from internet, wifi is connecting with this lock and disconnecting frequently, 2.4Ghz is my router, distance ok

Happy to help you with your Halo lock. To ensure they remain online, please try the following steps: 1. Delete and reinstall the Weiser app on your phone. After logging into the app, slide the home screen down to refresh the app and for the correct lock's status to appear. 2. Make sure that your phone is running the latest app version 1.2.10 and check for lock firmware updates within the app settings screen. 3. Please do not share the same Weiser app account with other users. We ask that additional users create their individual accounts and you can then share the “home” to pair their phones. 4. Your Bluetooth should be on within the phone, but also within the app. For Apple iOS, open your phone settings screen and scroll down to find your list of apps. Select the Weiser app, toggle the Bluetooth to ON for the app. 5. Check that the lock has enough battery power. If the batteries have no power, the app will show offline status. 6. Remove the lock from your phone's Bluetooth list, and repair the lock to the Weiser app via Bluetooth. If after trying these steps, your Halo lock is still offline, we'd need to gather additional details and troubleshoot further at 1-800-677-LOCK (5625).
