Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pretty, but... We bought this set 3 years ago for our front door, and the lock has stopped working. The key no longer turns. The paint finish is also wearing off. You can't buy the deadbolt part solo, so I had to buy a different kind which now looks terrible on my front door, because the shape is not the same and the door will have to be repainted. Also had to replace Weiser Wickham deadbolt on side door when key stopped working - twice. Rather than offer a lifetime warranty, Weiser, how about you just make better quality, long-lasting products so customers don't have to waste their time replacing your products which then end up in a landfill somewhere?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from OK Latch mechanism broke after 5 years. Could not open the door from outside. Was not covered under "Lifetime" warranty as I was not original owner. The finish is showing some wear and tear as well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Last lough After buying this lock set I did not find keys inside the box, I went to the store and talk to store Manager then I got the dead bolt replaced with the keys. I was disappointed because I had to go two time to the store for buying a single product. I think the color on the product may fade out eventually.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from wore out in less than 2 years I know this is a long review, but if you are planning on buying this or any similar Weiser product then you should hear me out. My previous Weiser deadbolt literally fell apart in pieces when I unlocked my door one day. it was about 5 years old so I figured maybe that's how long these things last even though it was "grade 2" certified. it used the smart-key feature so I figured I would buy another Weiser with the smart key feature so I wouldn't have to buy every family member a new key, which is a nice feature. So I went to home depot and bought this grip-set to replace the old handle and dead-bolt. that was less than 2 years ago. Since then I have found a few design flaws. the little key hole cover has worn the paint away where it rubs against the deadbolt when you swing it out of the way (which also is a bit of nuisance to try and do when you are carrying something in one hand). This is to be expected since it is assembled in such a way that it rubs on the face of the dead bolt every time you move it out of the way. the actual thumb-level is also showing signs of wear at the edges where the black paint has worn off from normal use. all this stuff I can live since It would still serve its primary function of locking, latching, and allowing the door to open. but remember, its less than 2 years old and in my books its also fairly expensive. The next problem I had I absolutely could not live with. I should have taken the previous Weiser deadbolt falling apart in pieces as a warning. Slowly over the course of about a month or two, my family started having a difficult time getting the door to open. even though we were depressing the thumb lever on the grip set we found that we would have to push a bit on the door to get it to actually unlatch. I was unsure as to what the problem was until one day I couldn't get the door to open at all, no matter how hard I pressed on the thumb lever. I ended up having to hold the lever down and body-check the door to get it to finally pop open. I took the latch mechanism out and immediately found out why the door was slowly getting more difficult to open. The steel plate inside the latch which the rod inside the grip set pushes on was worn away so much that the latch was unable to move the plunger back far enough to retract it from inside the striker plate. The way that this grip set is designed, it always pushes on the same side of the plate when you depress the thumb lever, so it makes it very obvious when you look at the pictures I have attached that one side has excessive wear. My guess is that the plate was either improperly heat-treated and quality control didn't catch the problem, or the type of metal selected just isn't up to par for residential use. The unfortunate part is that even though Weiser has a lifetime warranty, I cant seem to find my receipt, and the only way to get a replacement is with a receipt. I did find replacement latches available for purchase but I think I have finally learned my lesson and instead will take my losses on this grip set and buy a different brand. If you choose to buy a Weiser product, I would recommend making sure you know where the receipt is and keep the number to a locksmith in your phone to help you get into your house in case you have the same problems that I have experienced.
