Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good lock --- but different then my other Weisers I received the lock on schedule. Installed easily and looks great. BUT... I have three other Weiser locks and the programming has changed. On my other Weiser locks I enter the four digit numeric code and the bolt unlocks. On this one you must enter the four digit code PLUS the centre lock button to unlock it. I know its a minor change but I always have to remember that this one is different. I was hoping that choosing all Weiser products would mean consistent operation but that is not the case with this model. Just be aware of the change especially if you're installing multiple locks on your property.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great door lock! I bought this keyless lock over a year ago and still love it! it is so helpful for the kids so they don’t have to worry about losing or forgetting their key. It’s also come in handy for other occasions such as when I was away but wanted to let my sister in to pick up an item and all I had to do is give her the code. Or if it’s a one time entry you can program a temporary code and then delete it. It was super easy to install and also easy to program and change codes periodically. The batteries lasted over a year but I changed them before they ran out just to be cautious. This is a game changer and I highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid and Reliable I purchased this to replace an older, original Powerbolt model whose keypad had finally failed. Right out of the box, the set was solid and well-made. Instructions were crystal clear and all the requisite parts were packed in order of installation. The old model Powerbolt required two screw holes through the steel door, but this new model has no screws on the exterior plate and only three on the interior assembly (two through the battery pack, not visible when cover is installed, and only one visible at the bottom of the assembly). Installed in about 20 minutes, no drilling, works like a charm. And I was able to rekey the lock to my existing house keys in about 20 seconds!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failure after 2.5 years Bought this lock 2.5 years ago. Worked great then suddenly stoped. Replaced batteries ET. Friend advised us of similar issues previously. Was going to buy another one but no longer. Lock is in humid area and in the winter is exposed to cold. Key pad and connectors do not appear to be designed for the real world. Suspect contacts get contaminated then stops functioning. Have worked in industry 30+ years and seen a lot of poorly designed connections. Great idea but not designed for real world.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Keypad sub-standard in my mind I bought this lock thinking a lifetime warrantee is a great deal. However please be informed that for the most part my experience has been the important more problem pieces of the Powerbolt 2 are the parts that you need a warrantee for. In my case they call the metal around the keypad finish thus under warrantee. But the key pad that is very much a part of the finish you can see is not under warrantee. How ever I'm now on my second keypad as the numbers wear off after time. That of course by design is electronic thus a one year warrantee :-( Please Weiser get Wiser and make a keypad that doesn't wear off like other companies.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed in Weiser This lock was purchased just over a year ago. Since the beginning it has been unreliable. Sometimes the keypad worked, other times it did not. Contacted Weiser just after the 1 year, and they will not honour warranty, as it does not cover electronics. Had I known it was not guaranteed for life, as I thought all Weiser products were, I would have requested warranty sooner. Waste of $100, and I still need a new lock.

It is helpful to not worry about lost keys or to be able to have a temporary code for a petsitter while traveling. However, over the last 4-6 months the lock has not been working properly. I will lock (and ensure it is locked) before heading to work only to find the door unlocked when I return home. Same can happen overnight where I check in the morning and the door is unlocked. I have changed the code and batteries multiple times now and still have the same issues. Will be looking for a new lock - just not reliable and don't feel safe.

I need to replace my old Weiser Powerbolt that has been installed for 8 years. Will the Powerbolt 2 fit the holes that were drilled into my door for the first install or are new drill holes required?

Do the five buttons to press for the four digit code mean there are under 200 number combinations? Or do the buttons act as a different number if pressed a certain way i.e hold down the 1/2 key to get a "2" and a quick press to get a "1"?

How long do the batteries last? Can rechargeable batteries be used?

Not sure about recharging batteries. I have now found this product to be terrible. The batteries aren’t lasting more than a week. Sometimes only a day. It’s unreliable and I am back to just using the key.

Just bought Weiser Powerbolt 2.0 which uses KW1 key. My existing Weiser deadbolt uses WR5 key. I cannot rekey my WR5 key using Powerbolt 2.0. Is possible to copy my WR5 key to KW1 key, and then rekey my KW1 copy on Powerbolt 2.0?
