Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely piece of garbage I bought two separate locks to install because of its purported "smart lock" features. It constantly loses connection despite being under 10 feet from the router. It is very difficult to re-connect and requires a network reset each time. Additionally the unit drains batteries at an outrageous rate and has required 12 batteries in under 4 months, it is not easy to replace the batteries as you have to recover the majority of the lock assembly. The fact that this product made it through their product development and QA has completely ruined my opinion of Weiser as a brand and I will not buy one of their products again. Pros: Looks slick Cons: Doesn't function as a smart lock, might as well buy a much cheaper and equally as functional lock.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Purchase I bought this 2 1/2 years ago and my experience is as follows; batteries last a maximum of 3 months; it has reset itself on more than 1 occasion; now the electronic part doesn't work at all, and; mechanically now there is a 'catch' when you go to use the manual deadbolt. I called the Weiser customer service line in advance of writing this and while the person I dealt with was pleasant, their solution (too bad about the keypad and we'll send you parts to fix the mechanical part yourself) was unacceptable. DON'T BUY WEISER.......BUY ANOTHER BRAND!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this product Poor quality product ever. Battery drains quickly, need to replace brand new pack (4 AAA) every 3 months. Slow in responding if using siri or Weiser app to lock or unlock. Also, you need to be very close to the lock if you want to use your iphone or ipad to operate the lock. I bought mine two years ago and was having trouble with it. Phoned Weiser company customer service and was advised that the lock has reached its end of life and the company can do nothing about it. Will never buy a Weiser lock ever again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Definitely recommend not buying this I bought this just over a year ago and close to the one year mark in the colder weather the glass started cracking and this has apparently happened to many people. I called customer service and because it was over a year and the glass was considered an electronic it was not accepted in the lifetime warranty. They just told me to buy a new lock which I think is ridiculous for them to say this as I spent just $300 on this product; never even giving me an option to pay for repair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money or Weiser's name This lock does not perform as one would think a lock of this value would. Its keeps resetting itself, consumes batteries very quickly and is very vimpy ( we have one door that's a bit sticky and this lock has much less power than the Smartcode lock) . We installed Weiser on all exterior doors of our house and am very happy with the other locks. Weiser's re-key feature is fantastic. Don't buy this one -not worth the money. I would trade this one for a Smartcode electronic deadbolt in a heartbeat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality lock, some user interface issues Good installation instructions, but some quirks (it can be done one person contrary to a review on HomeDepot for the silver colour of this product). Best to know is that this product works with Apple HomeKit. If you want to use Apple HomeKit you MUST be running a stationary Apple device that runs HomeKit all the time in your home, AND this MUST be an AppleTV 4K (must be newest 4K version), Home Pod (the speaker) or an iPad. Whichever you use "it must be on all the time". There are setting instructions in AppleTV or iPad to use it as a "hub". Now that that's clear, you can then use your iPhone (or another iPad) from ANYWHERE to run and monitor your home including this door lock (and have schedules and a record of who comes in) and of course the fancy Siri voice controls for your home. HomeKit is the most secure solution today but needs some understanding to operate, but once setup it is amazing (and secure). Weiser's Doorlock uses BlueTooth (not wifi), this can be expensive in a larger home as you MUST have a HomeKit Apple Hub device within bluetooth range of the lock (30' at best). So I need multiple HomeKit Hubs to get one near the lock because my AppleTV4K in the theatre room is not near this lock on the door to the garage (so needed to place a second HomeKit hub near it). But as to this lock, thanks to them for having this good product working with HomeKit. The complaint is that people who don't use it much can find it hard to get the "full" keypad to light up with the palm of their hand in order to enter a code. I use it on a door to my enclosed but not insulated Canadian garage (so cold in winter yet sheltered on one side, heated mud room on the other side) and works fine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Ideas, Bad Product I bought this from Home Depot & installed this product less than 2years ago. The Good -Installation was quick and easy. Please note I have the original AppleTV 4 (not the 4K version) and it connects & functions consistently from a distance of 20ft from the lock. - The app is good, functions & is easy to navigate. The Bad - Battery life is about 4-5 months. I live in the most southern city of Canada. So it’s not too cold as to be outside the recommended temperature. - At 1.5 years the solenoid that locks the door started to stop functioning. I.E. even with new batteries the lock no longer locked. - Multiple calls & emails to Weiser are left unanswered or they send generic pathetic tech emails to reset the system and never address the root cause of the issue. Results: - The idea is good. The tech is good. The actual product & Weiser company support/warranty is sub par. I cannot recommend enough that you stay away from this product. Especially at $280 each they should last longer than 2years coming from an established company like Weiser.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not quite up to expectation First lock had battery consumption issues. Replacement was convenient and seamless. I'm in an upstairs condo and the connectivity range is mediocre at best. Image sharpness in darkness is less than acceptable.

Does this contain a tapered latch?  I looked at the installation instructions and it's ambiguous because some drawings like like it's tapered, others like it is not tapered.

I like the product, but I use iPhone, and my wife use Samsung. Can we both get a software to use this product, or should we look for another lock?

Asked by: Mar Ver
The lock will still work as a 'push button' lock so a non-iphone user can enter a 4-8 digit code to open the lock. The Siri "Unlock my front door" command will not work using an Android phone.
