Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, steady and lots of power I bought this generator when we purchased our new house outside city limits 1.5 years ago. Delivery was fast, on time and set up was very easy. We recently went through an Ice Storm which knocked our power out for over 30 hours. Let me be clear this Generator is a solid piece of machinery. Set it outside hit the Start button and plug it in, that's it. I haven't set up our house to be run entirely by our generator but have no doubt it will handle the load. And if your wondering 30+ hours cost about $40-$50 in fuel. When the power goes out my family and I can count on this generator and the power it provides. You will be the envy of the neighborhood when the grid goes down.

He did plenty of research and finally decided on this product, pleased with the brand and the price for power aspect. It arrived promptly and was easy for him to set up. Compact but powerful, this generator is extremely well made and user-friendly. So far the power provided has met our needs to date (though we have yet to put it to the test of a significant power outage). My husband is also very pleased with the 3-year (limited) warranty, which was unique among the brands he researched. Very little negative to say about this product, except perhaps that it is a bit noisier than we had anticipated. However, given that it's not a constant-use item, this is more than offset by the quality of the construction and our good experience so far. We'd definitely recommend this particular Westinghouse generator to anyone asking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Westinghouse 6500 After lots of research, bought this generator in December 2014 as our weather is getting more and more unpredictable. It was delivered at our door and took about 20 minutes to assemble the wheels and handle. After putting in the oil (supplied) and the gas, the electric start powered the engine flawlessly. I have only started it to test it with smaller appliances/tools as we have not had any outages, but it starts every time without a hitch, and it has been really cold. I will also be able to utilize it at the cottage in the summer months. The construction is solid and it is easy to operate (I am not mechanically inclined). I would fully recommend this generator based on what I have seen so far.

Have it set up with a 10 circuit transfer switch and it meets all the basic needs to keep the house operating. I did a lot of research prior to selecting this generator and the three year warranty coupled with postive reviews sold me on it. I have not been disappointed. Recommeneded buy Pros: - Add oil and ready to go - Powerful - Easy start with electric - Easy start with pull cord - Long run time - Price Cons: - none to date

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied Customer I purchased this unit to replace a 10 year old 5500 watt manual start generator. The item was shipped quickly and assembly was a breeze. It is wired to a transfer panel and will power my essential components when utility power is interrupted. My main reason for purchasing this model was the electric start feature and to date have not had to use it under power loss conditions. I know it will work as intended as I have demonstrated this to my self during commissioning trials. I would certainly recommend this unit to individuals requiring an essential backup during power outages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks and performs very well Got one of these bad boys 1 month ago and it rocks. I have 75% of my house wired onto a GEN SubPanel and this little guy runs the critical devices in my house effortlessly. I have 2 fridges, 2 freezers, furnace, microwave, all main floor and upstairs lights and outlets wired into the subpanel and this generator handles it fine, just have to power up the big appliances in stages so that you don't put a massive load on it all at once, after that everything triggers now and then. Only essential stuff is on it, no internet, no tv, no computers, no stove, washer, dryer (obviously!). I love it and this unit came with the Run Hours meter on the panel and that was only on the 1 up model so I guess GE made an error and I got lucky or that's how they come now. No regrets so far, get one for yourself before they are gone or price goes up again.

The assembly and operating instructions were well thought out and thorough. It's well priced, and above all - dependable. Living in Canada you want a product as vital as a generator that will deliver on it's promise. This product has proven it's worth twice in the year that I've owned it. The last outage we experienced was for 12 hours, two days ago. Within 10 minutes of deciding to power up, I was brewing coffee and getting my news update on line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Peace of mind After being without power for 5 days, we purchased the 6,500W to run well pump, sump pump, furnace, fridge and freezer. Wired into a manual transfer switch, and so far this unit works flawlessly. Excellent 3 year warranty and great price for what you get. Would prefer a hour meter but you would need to step up to the 7,500W unit. We don't have to worry about power outages anymore.
