Rated 1 out of 5 by from BUYER BEWARE OF FREEZER AND EXTENDED WARRANTY We bought this freezer a year and a half ago with extended warranty by square trade. 3 weeks ago we had the freezer defrost by itself twice then completely die. No luck finding a tech so we requested a replacement which I could see was available at Cobourg HD. All State squaretrade first told us there was none available so they would cut a cheque for what we paid. I insisted there was one available but they changed their story and told us because it went up by over 400 dollars due to inflation we were not eligible for replace so we would have to buy new freezer with cheque they cut and pay additional 450 for replacement unit. READ THE FINE PRINT EVEN WHEN THEY CLAIM YOUR COVERED FOR REPLACEMENT!!!!!

Had problems with first set, and because their sizing does not conform to other makes and models we purchased another set, even though we only needed a fridge, that is, Whirlpool changed their model so they didn't match and was forced to purchase the freezer. Now only 3 years later, the compressor has died and with parts and labor doesn't make sense to fix. STAY AWAY!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke down after 8 months, terrible repair process I purchased a brand new Whirlpool 18 cu. ft. SideKicks All-Freezer with Fast Freeze (SKU WSZ57L18DM) and Whirlpool 31-inch Wide SideKicks All-Refrigerator 18 cu. ft. (SKU WSR57R18DM) directly from Whirlpool (not a store) in May of 2019. The fridge stopped cooling in November 2019. It took 10 days to get this fixed under warranty. Whirlpool contracts out repairs to a third party. Their repair contractor network is incredibly limited and as such impacts response times and availability.

I bought another one, because I have the matching fridge, and thought maybe I just had bad luck. The second failed this week. $3,000 down the drain, plus hundreds in food. Again. And I’ll need to spend another $3,000 to replace both units now. It won't be Whirlpool! Stay away from these.

As we had designed our kitchen with room for an all fridge and an all freezer, I had no choice but to replace with the same. This is a smart design, shelves placed to create extra room. Quiet, easy to move and set in place, nice to look at and so far, easy to clean. It was a great choice. One thing that I would have liked is a small shelf for ice trays-just my opinion.

is this SideKick a complete freezer? I see many comments that it is freezer on one side and fridge on the other, or just a complete fridge. Thanks in advance

We just got the freezer and love it. I've read that the temp in the freezer should be 0 Celsius but ours is at -8C. Is that normal?

We are wanting to get the Whirlpool Sidekick fridge and freezer (side by side) but our space is just under 66 in tall.  Looking at options and wondering, do the sidekick have any feet or something that could be removed?

Hi Brenda, WSZ57L18DM has feet at the front which are adjustable/designed for leveling. Height To Top Of Refrigerator Cabinet (IN,inches) is 66 1/4 and additional space for breathing and ventilation. We recommend 74 1/2 inches if you would like to install the trim as well. Hope this helps, thank you for your question!
