Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wonderful layout, but really noisy This is a beautiful fridge. The layout is just right in both compartments. But how those of you claiming that this fridge is really quiet is beyond me! This is the noisiest fridge I've ever heard. If I wanted an industrial fridge, I might of considered this...but I'm in a residential space! I wish I have done a proper web search on this model prior to purchase, as one particular review confirms other owners' noise complaint. As well as the noises from the fans, at times, a pronounced 1kz tone is emitted (1189hz exactly...yes, I measured this). And given my search on the net, there are posts confirming this behavior because of the compressor's supposed design. Contacted Whirlpool regarding the noise, and they sent a tech...he said the noise is perfectly normal. Normal...for today's model? My older fridge made less noise than this. I'm still evaluating the fridge a for a couple of more days...but I can't see myself tolerating the noise. Pity, because I like its design and would rather hold on to it. Otherwise, this fridge is going back, and I'll have to pay restocking fees to the vendor. Hardly fair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sucks big time Purchased November 2017. Damper motor started making horrible grinding noises. Service tech replaced the motor 3 TIMES. I was not convinced and purchased extended warranty. Now September 2019, damper motor has failed completely and freezer full of ice particles. Expensive lemon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sucks big time Purchased November 2017. Freezer damper motor started making horrible grinding noises. Service tech replaced it 3 TIMES. Tech suggested that damper motor was ‘too cold’ - a curious fault for a refrigerator motor. As of September 2019 the damper motor has now failed completely and freezer is full of ice particles. Fridge is a lemon. Will be seeing if extended warranty covers it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice features We are very happy with this fridge. Love the bottom freezer, now my husband can find things in the fridge without ducking his head. Love all the clear drawers and shelves. Our previous fridge was over 25 years old and didn’t have all the features our new one has. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks great, not exactly reliable The fridge itself, when it was working, seemed ok, a bit limited with the freezer layout options and shelf configuration, but certainly an attractive unit. 5 month into ownership, it failed. Compressor and evaporator replaced, two weeks later, failed again...diagnosed with an internal leek. Nothing's perfect, I understand, but dealing with Whirlpool was trying...service people were generally next day, but parts 3-5 days, I have no idea when a replacement fridge is coming because that department is seemingly either overwhelmed with problems or have never tried living with a warm black box in the middle of their kitchens. I don't quite understand this market place and how this type of service is allowed. I think this failure is preventable during a build, and certainly could have been diagnosed the first time it failed. Lots of groceries wasted and even more time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love this new fridge We bought this new fridge with the freezer in the bottom and everyone loves it. The only thing I would change is to have a stopping mechanism on the fridge door so it doesn't swing all the way open, you have to hang onto it so it does not do that.

Looking at the fridge in the store, I see there are wire racks in the bottom freezer. Where would I place my ice cube trays? Top drawer or bottom drawer? And how do you keep the ice cube tray stable without spilling it on the floor?

Asked by: Helen
Top drawer... bottom will be filled up from day one. Wires are close enough together that it will hold an ice cube tray.

Can the temperature of the freezer drawer be adjusted to “refrigerator temperature” so that food like fruits and vegetables can be kept in this drawer, I.e. can this fridge become “all fridge”? Currently the fridge part is too small for our needs.

Asked by: Torus
Hi Torus, This is not an option on this fridge however you can consider one of our all fridge products WRR56X18FW. Thanks

The specs are 30" width but also says 32"+. What is the actual width of the outside of this fridge.

Asked by: dmac
Hello, this fridge is 29 3/4 inches. The item width 32" + refers to the width of the fridge in its box during delivery. Thank you for your question.

I need a left hand door on the fresh food section and a pull out door for the freezer.  The  description says the freezer door is reversible, but under "Details" the freezer door style is pull. Which is correct?

Asked by: Curious
The bottom freezer door is a pull out drawer. The upper fridge door can be reversed to open the other way. Most new refrigerators and dryers you can now reverse the way the door opens.
