Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not self-cleaning. Waited a month for this basic oven, the only feature I specifically needed and asked for was self-cleaning. The associate ordered in-store, after being notified by an idiotic automated message a month later in the evening that the stove would be there between 8a-11a then next day, prompting rushed time off work to received it.... no self-cleaning. Apparently someone in the appliance description department does not understand the difference between steam-clean (pour water in warm it up, then you still have to manually clean it), and self-clean (which just burns everything to dust and you just wipe it out). Spent 1h7 on the phone (dumped twice, once to a survey in mid-conversation) to have them tell me they won't give me anything or provide me with what I purchased without an extra $300 charge and no oven for a month. (The old one was removed when the new one was dropped off).

It came as a matching suite. The oven has baked everything evenly. The top burners work great and the double burner feature is especially nice. The are only a few minor issues. I wish the 2 big burners were located on the backside instead of the front as the steam is only partially removed by the microwave vent and the front of the microwave can steam up. Also, the dark blue number display can be hard on the eyes from a distance. Overall, I would still recommend this range for the quality and the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So So Range No real complaints, just nothing very special about this range. I have taken delivery of my 2nd range (the first one had a bent door) and been using it a week. Already I have a couple of complaints, one is that it takes a long time for range to reach desired temperature. Oven temp. is consistent once reached, though! The cooktop! After the first use I noticed a discoloration under the glass AND the cooktop scratches very easily and is extremely difficult to clean up as far as spills go. I also notice that the "cooktop On" and "Cooktop hot" lights stay on for a VERY long time (like 45 minutes!) I do like the dual elements very much. All in all, I suppose this is an OK range, just not quite as special as it is purported to be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Improvements needed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unit came with the brand new house. One of the knobs is quite tight and is very difficult to turn. Hence the corresponding plate/cooktop is never used at all. There is a loud squeaking sound emanating from the oven when in use, whether baking or broiling. It's loud enough to cause unnecessary worry and anxiety as to whether the oven is defective and may blow up anytime. I've never encountered such problems with all other cookers and ovens i've had in the past. I had such high regard and confidence in the Whirlpool brand so this is such a disappointment to say the least.

It was still working beautifully but wanted to update with stainless steel black. Cons of new- harder to keep Black top clean. Top still hot- even after hot surface light goes out. Front panel with vents- gets VERY hot- my old one didnt have vents and it was never hot. And top was cool to touch when surface light goes out. Would prefer big cooking surface in the back. Oven **Tinks** when warming up. It does the job but would definilty upgrade the top type next time. (didnt know there were 2 types)

I wanted something simple to use, that didn’t require a lot of thought. This stove is fantastic!!! The burners heat well and evenly, and the oven heats up quickly and bakes evenly as well. I like the steam cleaning option, as it takes an hour and will be easier to care for than my self cleaning oven that it replaced. The only downside, is that I wish the timer and notification signals were louder. Otherwise, it’s a great basic, for people that just want to cook.

It has been easy to use and major upgrade over our last range. The look was more modern and the features such as a frozen pizza setting and dual burner control and a warming area were great. The only problem we have had is that the range top doesn’t clean up as expected. We thought we would be able to wipe the area down to clean up drips and splashed from pots and pans but it doesn’t always clean up well. It makes the range top look dirty and mess even after it has been cleaned. Not a great look.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's ok Bought just before Easter, nice looking we actually bought the whole suite. But I also have a small scratch in the glass top and I agree is very hard to clean. I would like bolder indicator markings at the knobs and I also have had trouble with the timer and oven where I wanted the timer off and the oven turned off to. Thats a bad set up. I also find it takes a long time to preheat and mine doesn't cook as hot as my former GE did. It took me almost an hour to cook a 1 1/2 lb roast. The book says not to use an oven thermometer but how do you know if your cooking at the correct temp.
