It ran fine during inspection, but the dryer didnt work the first time I tried to use it. I’d press the start button but nothing happens. Costumer service told me the earliest they could come out was in two weeks. I can’t even rate this properly. 1 star because it didn’t work when I wanted to first use it.

I have never owned anything but a Whirlpool dryer. My parents and Grandparents never owned anything but Whirlpool washers and dryers. The door opening down and the performance have always been the selling point for us. Each upgrade has brought better quality then the last. Durability has been another selling point for us as well as life of the appliance with few to no repairs. Have not/would not buy any other brand of dryer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My last dryer (LEQ8858JQ1) finally took its last breath this year after over 2 decades of constant use, so I went for this comparison model dryer. A great dryer! Very quiet and dries clothes very fast also. Did i say very quiet? You can barley tell it’s running and my clothes come out so fluffy. A great purchase and a great price!

Can the door opening be switched to the other side, so the door opening is on the right? Can we do this ourselves or does it need to be ordered that way?

Hi There! What a great question. The answer is yes. The door on this particular model can be reversed without a special kit and you can absolutely do it yourself in some simple steps. The description says top load, but it looks like a front load. Which is correct? What does Jeans - No and Casual - No mean in the specs section?

It is most definitely a front load! I noticed that too before I bought. I am guessing it's a typo or copy paste error from a washing machine description. Not sure about the Jeans/Casual thing though. Perhaps it's referring to special settings that it does not have? Anyway, it's your basic dryer setup. Nothing fancy.

Is there a side vent option on this model? My laundry room is set up for a side vent machine.

Hi Mike, YWED4850HW can be setup for rear venting only. A minimum clearance of 6" is required from the back of the dryer to the wall. It does allows for a Periscope Vent installation or Over-The-Top installation.
