Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely poor performance, unreliablr The priduct constantly loses connectivity with the device and i have to revert to manually ooerating door locks. I had to place the hub 10 feet from the door to connect, works most of the time but ofyen disconnects and have to power cycle

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware - to use this, you will need to spend 5 US$ As of 20 May 2020, you will need to spend 5$US/month to use this hub + all the add on. There are other alternatives that have no monthly cost; Samsung Hub’s come yo mind. This hub made it to the dangerous waste bin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This Company Bricked EVERYONE'S Wink Hub at once! I purchased this smart home hub in May 2019. I set it up with all of my devices using the Wink mobile app, as well as various automations. It worked about 80% of the time and only required a hard reboot three times during the year (once when I wasn't home and couldn't access it). Then, on May 6, 2020, Wink quietly announced in their blog that all customers MUST subscription to a new $5 / month Wink subscription by May 13, 2020 (7 days warning), otherwise, they will no longer be able to use the hub that they paid for. No exceptions. This is horribly bad business practice. This company should not be trusted. Find a better hub!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WAS a good device Wink was sold as not having monthly fees or contracts. Well the just sprung it on us that starting in just 1 week it won’t work unless we pay $5 per month. Sure it’s not a lot but to sell it as a no fee device then change their mind and only give us 1 week? Sounds like the desperate move of a company about to go bankrupt. Look elsewhere for your home automation needs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hub 2 Not great for connecting to smart devices Easy to install BUT difficult to connect to any smart devices, even when directly beside it! I would not recommend this Hub!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy, Wink has gone out of business I have this device and it is now a door stop. The company has gone under and there is no support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price, but might be a dead company. Easy to set up, eliminates hubs from various companies.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from (Not so) Smart Hub Original Hub was able to ride out a power outage. Hub 2 lost connection with 6 of 7 lights. Lights drop out randomly and need constant attention. Product support through Wink SUCKS.

There are different Schlage Smart Locks and they very regarding their connection requirements. You will have to confirm it with your particular model number. Typically if it's Wink compatible it will probably also be SmartThings Compatible.

Can you connect devices directly to the hub instead of connecting them to your router?

I’m asking specifically about devices who would normally connect directly to the router through wifi. My problem is that Routers have a limit for how many devices can be connected simultaneously.
Asked by: Matt
No - this provides zwave/zigbee/kiddie/clearconnect for devices only it does not replace your wifi connectivity for IP only enabled devices.

I want an automatic door unlock at 6am and automatic door lock at 5pm. Is this possible within the Wink ? I will be using the Schlage Model # BE479AA V CEN 619 + BR400 door lock with wifi and Bluetooth capability.
Asked by: Frim
Yes. You can schedule events. I do not know if the lock you have selected is compatible; but if it is, you most certainly can schedule your times.

What is the operating temperature range? I plan to put it in a cabin that is unheated in winter except when we go up.
Asked by: Don
That's a good question. I have one in an attic in Los Angeles and it gets pretty hot during the summer. I emailed wink and they responded "The temperature range for the Wink Hub 2 would be 32 - 104 F. " I ended up putting my hub in a foam box and using a temperature sensor and appliance module to turn on/off a fan as needed. I used a Wink Robot to automate it and has worked very well for at least a year or so.
