Rated 1 out of 5 by from This Company Bricked EVERYONE'S Wink Hub at once! I purchased this smart home hub in May 2019. I set it up with all of my devices using the Wink mobile app, as well as various automations. It worked about 80% of the time and only required a hard reboot three times during the year (once when I wasn't home and couldn't access it). Then, on May 6, 2020, Wink quietly announced in their blog that all customers MUST subscription to a new $5 / month Wink subscription by May 13, 2020 (7 days warning), otherwise, they will no longer be able to use the hub that they paid for. No exceptions. This is horribly bad business practice. This company should not be trusted. Find a better hub!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, hope the app for my lock can be better I need a lock that I can remotely change the pass codes for the cleaner and the guest to access my property. After I did research including calling Shlage. I bought this lock and a Wink hub. I set it up. Found I can basic add or delete a user code, and name it as the person's name. But I hope it can be more user friendly feature, like: edit codes(not only add or delete), set a schedule the code can access the property, or at least I can enable or disable the code so I can manually give or take away access for a person. I don't have so much time for test an other system for that features, hope Wink or Shlage can come up an update to better software version.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No more waiting and easy to connect. 100% improvement over the 1st hub. It took time but they got it right.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your time Wink robots doesn't work so your best bet is to use a service like stringify or IFTTT and this will cause delays in your automation system. Also be aware all events will go through there online platform for data collection and tracking. There is no need for them to do this. Automation can be local to your network if you use Sonos for example. Companies like wink and Samsung are offering such products for data harvesting more than anything else. Any zwave hub will do a better job because they don't need a live internet connection to operate. If you're ok with someone tracking your activity inside your home, choose Samsung smart things hub. At least there is a big community for support and it's compatible with better devices.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WAS a good device Wink was sold as not having monthly fees or contracts. Well the just sprung it on us that starting in just 1 week it won’t work unless we pay $5 per month. Sure it’s not a lot but to sell it as a no fee device then change their mind and only give us 1 week? Sounds like the desperate move of a company about to go bankrupt. Look elsewhere for your home automation needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Smart Hub for me.. But very impressive. So I bought this Wink2 Hub a few weeks ago. Got it on sale at home depot for $99. After doing some initial research on smart hubs this one seemed to suit my needs. It supports multiple protocols, has integration with alot of different products, and is relatively inexpensive. I installed the Hub, the Android App and had the hub online in less than 10 minutes. Very quick setup. Also purchased the in home Wink Relay and Phillips Hue Bridge. NOTE: Wink relay requires some basic electrical knowledge to install. So far very impressed !! Sent a few emails to wink support and response was relatively fast as well. Looking forward to adding more to my wink2 ! Nice product guys! Will Wink3 have hub integration to avoid buying bridges and hubs for everything ?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware - to use this, you will need to spend 5 US$ As of 20 May 2020, you will need to spend 5$US/month to use this hub + all the add on. There are other alternatives that have no monthly cost; Samsung Hub’s come yo mind. This hub made it to the dangerous waste bin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Technology not ready. Looked like a great idea with all it's product support options, but fails in it's implementation. It's slow, it DOESN'T work offline (during Internet outage) as advertised. The user interface is clunky and slow, the ethernet port never worked (I will be returning the item ASAP) - Wink customer support was friendly, but unable to resolve the issues.

Two questions please: 1. Can the hub work independently without internet connection (in case of internet failure)? 2. Is a subscription required for connection to a server?

Asked by: ee l
Wink hub can work independantly if INTERNET fails and you're at home. If your WIFI or NETWORK fail, it will not work. The internet service is just for out of home use. As for subscription service, you do have to register online... Do you HAVE to, I don't know. I did and it works fine. If your goal is to have a solution managed within your local network entirely and not have an internet presence, not sure this will work for you.

I recently bought Schlage Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt, if i buy Wink Hub 2 Smart Home Hub, will i be able to access my deadbolt remotely or i still need to buy another adapter by schlage ?

Asked by: Dee S
Schlage Sense is the Bluetooth model and is NOT supported by the Wink Hub 2 at this time. You must use a Z-Wave lock to be supported with the Hub. Please consider the Schlage Connect model BE469 which is 100% supported by the Hub and allows you to control the lock from your phone, as well as edit user codes, and add the lock to your Wink app automations.

Home Depot have the Wink Hub 2 listed as "Product no longer available" and the Wink Gateway as "Clearance". According to the www.wink.com website, the Wink Hub 2 is the current product. Please explain.
