But they haven’t kept up with app updates and so now on the most recent version of IOS (can’t speak to Android) the app is prone to crashing; and since it doesn’t integrate with any other platform, it renders the smart features unusable.

Unfortunately I needed to replace this model after only less than two years of use. We'll see how this one holds up. They do work great and the APP is easy to use as well.

This works well - three outlets are "always on", and three outlets are switched together over Wifi. Included is a long ground stake, but I have the unit ziptied to one of my gazebo legs. The app works well and doesn't require an account. I prefer this, however it requires that the control device is on the same network as this power bar.

How long is the cord as I assume it needs to be plugged into an outlet?

Hi Marilyn, Yes, the unit needs to be plugged into an outlet. The cord is 5 ft. long. The device has 6 outlets, three of which can be operated with wifi, the other three are permanently on like any ordinary power bar. I was able to successfully pair the device with my Amazon echo to control my outdoor lights etc by voice command. I can also do this with my smart phone. I've found it works well and I'm very happy with it.
