Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Brush I've Used - Cleans Nicely too! This is one of the best brushes I've ever used. Perfect size for cutting in as well as general trim painting. Clean application of paint, little brush lines, doesn't leave paint streaks when cutting in. Holds paint very well, keeps shape when applying, which helps you cut in a good two feet at a time. You can cut a strip in as little as 1/4 inch wide cleanly. Nice feel in the hand. Did not leave any splinter bristles on the wall. Also cleans very well, especially the bristles near the base of the brush, which are often hard to clean on most brushes. Well worth the price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good job....but some early bristle loss This brush was used rigorously over a 3-week period. FIRST: Oil based paint application to baseboards, crown molding, block paneling and vertical spindles with excellent results. The brush carried a reasonable amount of paint, remained soft and pliable and provided a ‘brush-stroke free’ finish to all surfaces. The brush handle was comfortable and the angle provided steady control. After the third cleaning a few of the bristles released and had to be retrieved from the painted surface (seemed to be premature for a new brush that had been cleaned and stored properly between uses). SECOND: Polyurethane application to red oak stair treads, again with ‘brush-stroke free’ excellent results. However, additional bristles released from the brush during application. CONCLUSION: Great size, versatile....but the jury is still out on bristle loss over the life of the brush.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pay More for a Great Brush and Save Time A good paint brush like this one makes the chore of painting, especially cutting in, go more quickly. My partner borrowed this brush while we were both painting woodwork and wouldn't give it back, so I went to my local Home Depot store to buy another so we could both work at the same time. This brush carries more paint to the surface being painted than a cheap brush and spreads it more evenly, requiring fewer strokes. It also cleans easily. Since these brushes are so good, I now make certain that they are cleaned well after the work is done for the day using COLD water and bar soap like Octagon or Zote. Do yourself a favor and buy this brush if you have a lot of painting to do with water-based paints or stains. In the end, the extra cost for a better brush will save you money because time is money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality Brush I love this paintbrush! I’ve done a lot of painting recently and tried out a few different brands and styles and this is the best of the bunch. I use this one to do some edging on walls and a lot of molding. It didn’t lose any bristles. It was flexible enough that I was able to easily paint the molding. It had a nice angle and crisp enough edge that I could edge the walls without getting a bit of paint on the molding. It was easy to clean-up as well—I’ve used it a few times and the paint comes off the bristles so nicely that they practically look brand new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best deal anywhere for a brush this brush is identical to the wooster 'FTP', their most expensive brush. The ftp costs closer to $30 . what's the catch? they used the ftp's brush head, but a cheaper wood for the handle and a lesser metal for the ferrule. any painter worth his salt will tell you this doesn't matter, as the brush head is the weakest link. while it's not my absolute favorite, id recommend it to anyone. it is far better than 99% of other brushes and l ight years ahead of anything with 'purdy' written on it. get it while you still can.

I have tried out other brushes when starting to paint a large deck, but had difficulty in that the bristles were too soft and fine causing the paint to cake on - making edging and painting spindles very hard. The Wooster Pro made a huge difference! Its nylon/polyester bristles allow the paint to flow better and reduces caking in the wind and sun, while the angled sash helps getting into small corners. It also cleans much easier than the other brushes I used. This product undoubtedly made my job easier.

I own two of these brushes - I keep one for light colors (whites/beiges), and the second for darker paint colors, since the bristles tend to get tinted to the paint color even after clean-up. This brush holds just the right amount of paint to allow me to drag up to and along the edge with perfect results. With some practice to develop a steady, confident hand, you can produce much better edge results on your work than taping, with faster clean-up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only brand of paint brush worth buying Wooster brushes make painting easier! I've been painting for over 30 years and the Wooster brand of paint brushes is the only brand worth buying. The chinex bristle works with all paints and gives a velvety-smooth finish with no brush marks. I use angle sash brushes when working on furniture or tight spaces and straight brushes when cutting in walls and ceilings. If you clean your brush well after using, it will last forever. Pay a little more now and get a LOT better finished product.
