[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rolls, dispenses paint smoothly, limited lint if you dust it up front and cleans well. Really those are key items for any roller. This one has a nice plastic tube core, so cleanup is easy. The fabric is very dense with a small amount of loft, this provides the best option in my mind for detail roller work. It gives the best smooth deployment. I used it on some crown molding with an acrylic based white paint. This went on well. Later after cleaning, I used it for some wall work using latex based flat paint. Again another good application and an easy cleanup.

It's a slick hard surface, that allows the roller to roll smoothly. I am also impressed with the roller surface that the paint adheres to. It's a dense short-nap material that Wooster calls shed-resistant. As far as my experience goes, I had no shedding and no material from the roller infiltrating my paint. I'll use this roller again next time since it can be used, and reused, on smooth drywall, wood, and metal - and it works with all paint sheens.

This paint roller is just that. I am redoing my office and needed to paint the walls a new more bright color and this roller made the job easy and fast. It was not a messy affair, because the low nap did not allow me to overload the roller with paint, yet there was enough paint load to make this paint job fast and efficient. Overall, this was a great selection.

Great to use on smooth drywall, wallboard, wood and metal. Since it’s practically lint free painting in kitchens and bathrooms is ideal. Works well with flat, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss and gloss paints. There is a double thick polypropylene core to resist water, solvents and cracking. I am using the 9 in. Heavy-Duty Roller Frame that is designed to prevent roller covers from slipping or walking and this cover fits perfectly.

I used the 1/4" nap to put primer on new wallboard giving me a smooth finish to start my final coat on.

This 9" by 1/4" roller for smooth drywall, wallboard, wood & metal lives up to the high quality I have grown to expect from Wooster. The roller holds all types of paint well. It provides excellent coverage with no spots to go over because a segment of the roller had no paint on it; this in itself is a real time saver. You end up with a smooth professional finish every time. Well done Wooster!

This is a great paint roller cover. This is a 9" (standard length) paint roller cover with 1/4" nap. I prefer 1/4" nap rollers for smooth surfaces (flat drywall) because it gives a smooth finish. This roller cover is good quality, no fuzz or fluff comes off the roller messing up the smooth finish. The edges are clean and trimmed so you do not have trouble with lap lines on roller strokes. I will use this roller again for my next paint project. Completely satisfied.

No regrets with this purchase. I have been engaged in some heavy painting with a new addition. You can really tell the quality roller pads as they hold up very well, even with a lot of use. I had a bad experience once years ago with what looked like a sponge roller, which I used to stain the floor of my deck, which is 16 x 24; the roller fell apart before I ever finished the deck, did not stand the test of use, I couldn't believe it. I consider this roller superior quality to that... gets the job done well, and without breaking down from a lot of use. I would not hesitate to use this brand again.

Is this a KNIT SYNTHETIC roller cover? I read those are best for painting a smooth surface w/flat paint. I'm painting a kitchen ceiling and this will be my 3rd coat. The first two I used a 3/8" roller cover, which left a visible texture and some streaks.

This is a woven roller cover. You have mentioned a knit, which we do offer; however, a knit is more of a production roller cover. It is known to pick up and release the most paint thus covering more area quickly. While the woven does also offer good pick up and release, it's real claim to fame is providing the smoothest finish. This 1/4" Wooster Pro Woven roller cover would be a good choice for a smooth surface and would provide a smooth finish. We would suggest this over the knit if looking for the smoothest finish.
