Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good idea but poor quality. I have owned many smart products. The Yale nest lock is in theory a great idea. On the rare occasions when it stays up for a day or two it works flawlessly. The problem is the connectivity for this product is terribly unreliable. I have exchanged a previous one. The replacement worked for all of two days. Unfortunately you have to repeatedly reset the lock and the connect in order to get it to work.....did I mention you have to take the lock apart from the door to reset. I have went through this with their support team. Honestly, it just isn't reliable like other nest products. Constantly goes offline. It is too bad as other Nest products are much more reliable. I would not recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love/Hate Love/ Hate.....Pain in the butt to get connected! Spent forever (over multiple days!) going through the diagnostics with google but they got it working through many attempts. LOVE IT NOW that is is connected to the nest, wifi and to my phone. If you have patience to deal with the tech glitches it is worth the money. Not recommended for those that are not tech savvy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nest Yale lock It's an expensive lock and yet it doesn't know when the door is ajar, and it sends the signal to lock sending the dead bolt into the lock position giving you a false sense of security when a child or elderly person has left the door ajar. Most locks have this feature to notify you when door is ajar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Note for old houses. Take note for old houses here in Canada, where installed deadbolt hole are 1 inches diameter, This will not fit. Rather than enlarging the existing hole to accommodate this. What i did is i remove my doorknob and installed this. I'm happy with the outcome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We love it ! Loved it so much w bought one more for our side door. The convince of never having to have keys is amazing! Install was simple and easy.Love the face I can have different codees for different people and the peace of mind of checking my door from my phone.Only negative is the autolock feature. It's great if you immediately shut your door but if not the deadbolt opens. Would be cool if it could sense that door was shut and then start the autolock feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As expected and more. Wish I purchased earlier I looked at the Nest X Yale lock both online and in stores for a considerable period of time before purchasing. It is obviously considerably more expensive than a traditional key lock, and even many other electronic locks, and I wondered if the extra cost would be worth it. In the end, I could not be more happy with my purchase. Aesthetics, ease of installation and set up and daily use, all 5 star

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest installation ever I have installed many deadbolts and electronic deadbolts in the past. This one was by far the easiest. And the nest app lets you monitor the lock and get notifications! I love the configuration available but would like to have different auto lock times than 1 or 5 minutes. I replaced all my deadbolts with these locks and couldn’t be happier. My wife loves the ability to ask google to lock our door

Is it fingerprint-proof?

Asked by: Vivi
I wouldn't say its fingerprint proof but it doesn't bother me.

What happens if AA batteries run out, will you be locked out?

Asked by: Biren
No you won't be locked out. If you let the batteries die you can push a 9v battery against the 2 terminals on the bottom of the key pad to turn it on

does it automatically lock when someone exits the home, and can the delay before locking be customized or extended to say 5 minutes?

Does this have a key along with the remote access feature? What happens if you ignore the warnings and the battery dies denying you entry? Looks like a great product but without having a key as an emergency backup is a little dicey.

Asked by: GaryMac
Doesn't come with a back up key - but underneath the keypad it has recepticals so you can connect the terminal of a 9V battery to give temporary power to put your passcode in and unlock the door

Has anyone experienced any issues with this lock in cold weather. Like -25° C?

Asked by: Frypan
The battery tends to die a bit quicker, however you always get alerted when this happens. Other than that, it’s amazing!
