There was one glass cone that is slightly off with the others when screwed in. We tried many times of adjusting how we screw it but it appears to be more a quality control issue with the part where you screw in the glass cone.

Can the height be adjusted?

Why is there a third wire in the fixture when only two wires actually connect the power?

There are only two wires in the wire, black and white correspond to the zero wire and the live wire, and the extra copper wire is the ground wire, so the ground wire is fine.
