Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vigoro Enriched Premium Garden Soil - Bulk So much easier than buying (and lugging about) a couple of dozen bags of soil from a garden supply or hardware store. While you can buy landscaping and gardening products in bulk from other suppliers, this comes in single, very large bag and not as a heap dumped in your yard or driveway. The heavy duty bag is part of the purchase and I suppose one could find uses for it when emptied but I try to return them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Garden Soil I am not an expert gardener, I'm learning and for the past couple of years I have been working to get strawberries, potatoes and the like growing in my garden. I have learned not to go with the cheapest option, I've been able to grow lettuce, tomatoes and the odd strawberry. The soil came in an orange Home Depot bag, the company that supplied the soil for Home Depot was Radius Global Supply. The quality of the soil is amazing, yes you get weeds but unless you have the garden soil boiled by the company you'll still get them (in boiling the soil I read that kills the nutrients in the soil... and we want the nutrients for the plants to grow). I have been diligent with watering every day using my rain barrel and I'm really happy with the results. I had extra soil left over and a garden bed that wasn't in use so I raked it up, put down a layer of the fresh soil, planted potato spuds and they're growing really well.

Then I bought a bunch of organic starter veggie plants and split them between pots with this soil and in pots with soil I bought from a farm. The veggies in this soil simply did not grow. This was an expensive purchase and completely wasted my time and money. I never leave reviews but thought it might help others save their time and money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as advertised There was nothing "premium" about this soil. I had to supplement with peatmoss to make it even close to serviceable for my garden. There were pieces of plastic in it and before I was even able to get it into my garden, weeds were growing out of it. The free and prompt delivery was amazing, but this product is not suitable for use in garden beds.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Garden Soil not a Premium Quality The soil is not what it promised to be... lots of twigs, wood chips, and very gritty with sand. I bought it to use as a base for an organic vegetable garden, but I ended up using it on the flower bed instead and it does not qualify as a premium soil suitable for organic or non-organic vegetable gardening. I did mind the price i paid since i thought it was a premium organic soil but it was not, so it is expensive if you just be using for a flower garden. I would not recommend for any vegetable gardening with all the twigs, wood chips, sand and other material in it that was grounded with it.

The cost is $258.77 cost includes taxes and delivery. When I received it I wasn't able to open bag until 3 or 4 days later. When opening the bag there were so many weeds growing and I wasn't sure if this soil was vigoro enriched premium garden soil because the bag wasn't green like in the picture online with Vigoro logo etc.... the bag was white with nothing written. Anyway, I've deeply disappointed and will NEVER purchase premium garden soil from Home Depot again. Can't even return it because it's too big and heavy for my vehicle. I don't recommend anyone to purchase this. I feel like I've wasted over $200 on soil that grows weeds. I have to start over again. very sad indeed.

How is the product unloaded from the truck? Will I be asked to provide a forklift? Are only trucks capable of unloading this product used?

It was awful soil. It has a lot of clay soil in it. I never had such a bad product from Home Depot. I highly recommend to check with other customers and change the vendor immediatey.

What is the composition of the soil in Woodstock, Oxford County Area? Is this soil ideal for growing vegetables and if not what should be added?

I don't know the soil composition in Woodstock, however, I purchased the Vigaro Enriched bulk soil for my mother two years in a row. She is an avid gardener and had fantastic results with her vegetable garden. She grows several varieties of peppers, tomatoes, green beans, zuchinni, pumpkin, callaloo, bok choy, garlic, swiss chard, etc. with fantastic result. I can vouch for her abundant and tasty harvest. She has an incredible flower garden as well. She has said multiple times that this bulk soil is one of the best.

I don't know about heavy metals, but I can tell you that my veggies did not grow in this stuff. The same veggies planted in compost from my brother's farm thrived, so I would not recommend purchasing this soil at all. Hope this helps you!

The soil I received was rich with organic matter and was a deep black colour.  It wasn’t the best soil I’ve ever purchased, but it was perfect for filling massive garden planters and it hasn’t compressed after the first winter.  It’s good for the money.
