Provides elegant and practical use of space in a shower curtain enclosure. For installation: Hold rod up to desired position, one person at each end, to check height and location. Be sure that rod is level. With a pencil lightly trace the top and bottom of the wall plate. Set rod down. Remove retaining screws. Separate the wall plates from the rod. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adjustable Tension Mount Shower Rod I bought this, earlier this week, have to admit, it was a bit difficult for me assembling it, came a bit scratched as well, so wonder if someone had previously purchased it and had a hard time and returned it. I was determined make it work if possible though, and my stubborn determination was worth it. Much better than the typical tension rod and does look so much better. I really didn't want to have to drill into tiles, so looked for a better option out there and found this. It looks much better, good improvement and seems very secure as well. Happy with purchase even though was a bit more involved than expected to get it together.

Tried to in install the first night and it never tightened as it should have. Contacted the company and explained the issue and even though they set a new replacement piece free of charge the replacement was even worst and broke when trying to tighten. Will is returning this tomorrow. DO NOT BUY!

There is a slight rise where the two sections of pole meet that the curtain rings must slide over, causing a very slight jam on occasion. Has been installed a month, hasn't moved at all. Clean the tiles well before installing using tension.

The quality of the materials is incredibly low grade, and do not be fooled by the “easy install” tag line. It took two adults 45 minutes to get the right amount of pressure to fit, and even then, the shower bar still wiggled. At the end of a very long bathroom reno, this item was the straw that broke the camels back. Do yourself a favour - Leave it in the store.

I can't get the end cover plates to stay on, they keep springing off the wall brackets.

The rod has fairly large end caps so the surface has to have enough parallel space for the end caps to fit flush.
